We are told Searcy (Ark.) Harding Academy linebacker Wyatt Simmons is en route and should arrive in about 45 minutes.
Simmons is traveling in after taking an official visit to Auburn. Arkansas is slated to draw one later this month.
Here is what we wrote on Simmons in first detailing Clemson's interest our May 22 Insider:
Two weeks ago, Simmons (6-3, 215) was an unknown with zero offers ... because he had not put together any film. Which in itself is further shocking, and maybe doesn't even really add up, because his father is a D3 head coach.
Then Simmons posted highlights on Twitter, and the floodgates opened.
It won't surprise any of our readers that Oklahoma dove in headfirst -- although Ted Roof is the one who made the in-person eval, not Brent Venables.
But so too have Florida State, Auburn, Miami, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Mississippi State.
(Wes) Goodwin didn't get to see Simmons work out, we are told.
Yet we would tell you Clemson interest is high and could escalate as the summer goes on. Our understanding is Simmons reminds the staff of Baylon Spector.
