First off, I don't get the hate and nastiness toward him. Not sure why it has to be so personal with some folks, but I guess that's just where we are nowadays with society.
But what I think is a legit question:
If the guy takes the objective high ground every week in refusing to make a pick on the game he's covering, that makes it fair game IMO to ask if he should even be calling any Ohio State games because he's way too close to that program?
His son is on the team.
He's, like, really tight with Ryan Day.
Anyway, just a thought.
But a disclaimer: Herbie's family has gone through some really rough patches recently as he explains here. So he deserves the benefit of the doubt, probably.
