What are your thoughts on the ACC telling teams to not schedule anymore G5 away games and change those existing ones if possible? I like this idea. It doesn't do any good for the ACC to play G5 teams away from home. It is a lose-lose situation. They are saying only away games should be P5 or Army which I find interesting. Cincy, Houston, BYU and UCF are all in the Big 12 now, so they can be played home or away. The league wants better inventory games for its channel as well as more competitive and better schedules.

UNC and Duke have both indicated that they plan to continue playing the G5 away games they've already scheduled. On the other hand, Wake Forest has taken steps to cancel some G5 home-and-homes.

Here are schools with G5 away games scheduled for this Fall:

  • NC State at UConn, Sep. 2, 2023
  • Wake Forest at Old Dominion, Sep. 16, 2023
  • Duke at UConn, Sep. 23, 2023
  • Miami at Temple, Sep. 23, 2023
  • Virginia Tech at Marshall, Sep. 23, 2023
  • Boston College at Army*, Oct. 7, 2023

* as noted above, games against Army are okay.

Here are the away G5 games currently scheduled for 2024:
  • Louisville at USF, Aug. 31, 2024
  • NC State at USF, Sep. 14, 2024
  • Virginia Tech at Old Dominion, Sep. 14, 2024
  • Syracuse at Army*, Sep. 21, 2024
  • Wake Forest at Army*, Nov. 16, 2024
NOTE: Pitt plays at Cincinnati on Sep. 7, 2024 - but that is a Big XII game now, so it's okay.
