ACC winning percentages last 25/10/5 years (These do NOT include 2024 btw). Data only goes to 2023. As you will see there are a lot of teams in the BAD column that shouldn't be there. 6 expansion teams are in the Bad column. SMU is the ONLY expansion team in the Good column. Louisville and Pitt fall into the next group. VT/FSU/Miami/GT/BC have really hurt the ACC over the last 25 years. These used to be premiere programs that have fallen off the map. Clemson has been the BELL COW for a long time and really should be rewarded big time. ND has made every team in the ACC look pathetic for a very long time.

The Good
Clemson - Clemson has remained a top 6 in winningest program over last 25 years - 6(25 years), 3rd (10 years), 5th (last 5 years)
Notre Dame - Notre Dame had improved from a top 22 team 25 years ago to a top 6 team over the last 5 years - 22nd (25 years), 7th (10 years), 6th (last 5 years)
UNC - UNC has improved from 75th down to 44th over the last 25 years, they just hired Belichick as well - 75th (25 years), 59th (10 years), 44th (last 5 years)
WF - WF has improved from 68th down to 48th. Got a new coach. Anything inside the top 50 is really good for WF. 68th (25 years), 68th (10 years), 48th (last 5 years)
SMU - Have went from 93rd to 20th. Have a good coach and a lot of money. 93rd (25 years), 66th (10 years), 20th (Last 5 years)

The OK
Pitt - Pitt has hung between 40th and 52nd all 25 years. Narduzzi has been ok for them - 40th (25 years), 52nd (10 years), 42nd (Last 5 years)
NC ST - NC St. has hung between 29th and 41st all 25 years. Doeren has been their consistent Tommy Bowden - 41st (25 years), 29th (10 years), 36th (Last 5 years)
Louisville - Fallen from 25th to 53rd, but new coach looks very solid for them. 25th (25 years), 49th (10 years), 53rd (Last 5 years)

The Bad
FSU - They have fallen from 14th to 37th. Trending downward big time with exception to their season 2 years ago. Need a big time coach. 14th (25 years), 22nd (10 years), 37th (last 5 years)
Miami - They have fallen from 19th to 60th. Trending downward big time with exception to this past year 19th. Need Cristobal to get it done. (25 years), 42nd (10 years), 60th (last 5 years)
Duke - Duke has been averaging between 70th and 106th. They had a couple of decent years recently. Last 2 coaches are better. 106th (25 years), 70th (10 years), 90th (last 5 years)
GT - GT has went from 46th to 112th. They did have a better year last year. Glad they got a new coach. 46th (25 years), 84th (10 years), 112th (Last 5 years)
UVA - UVA has been between 81st and 97th which is awful football for a long time. Need a big time coach. 81st (25 years), 97th (10 years), 85th (Last 5 years)
VT - VT has fallen off a cliff from 17th to 76th. This is really unacceptable for this type of program. Need a big time coach. 17th (25 years), 56th (10 years), 76th (Last 5 years)
BC - BC has fallen off quite a bit from 45th to 82nd. Glad they got a new coach 45th (25 years), 77th (10 years), 82nd (last 5 years)
Cuse - Cuse has been really bad outside a few years from 91st to 104th. Glad they got a new coach 91st (25 years), 104th (10 years), 102nd (Last 5 years)
CAL - Have been really subpar ranging from 72nd to 88th over last 25 years. Bring Tedford back. 72nd (25 years), 81st (10 years), 88th (Last 5 years)
Stanford - Has fallen from 47th to 120th. They have been horrible and need a big time coach to turn things around. 47th (25 years), 58th (10 years), 120th (Last 5 years)

Potential Expansion Teams Trending UP or staying ELITE
UCF - They have been between 26th and 37th the last 25 years. Could be an option
Cincy - They have been between 11th and 27th the last 25 years. Could be an option
OK ST has stayed between 16th and 21st the last 25 years (That is getting it done, sign me up for them)
KS ST has stayed between 29th and 37th the last 25 years (That is solid, I would take them)
Utah has stayed between 15th and 18th the last 25 years (Sign me up for them). They don't have a Grant of Rights. Wouldn't sign it, so they are available.
BYU has stayed between 24th and 31st the last 25 years (Sign me up for them as well)
Memphis has gone from 62nd to 18th the last 25 years (They also have a good basketball program. They could be another SMU. I would grab them while we can) - Gives us TN which we don't have
Air Force has ranged between 9th and 35th all 25 years (That is really good, I was surprised)
Tulane has gone from 100th to 44th (They are trending in the right direction. They would give us LA and it is in New Orleans and a great academic school)
Boise State has ranged between 2nd and 22nd all 25 years. They know how to play football out there on the blue turf.

*Since Big 12 has GOR, the best ACC options right now would be ND, Utah (No GOR), Memphis, Boise ST. with Tulane and Air Force under consideration.

If the Big 12 was free to move then OK ST, Utah, KS ST., BYU, UCF and Cincy would be the best options right now with TCU , TT, and WV has the next tier.

Potential Expansion Teams Trending DOWN or just bad
Texas Tech - They have gone from 39th to 83rd. They do have a newer coach who could be good thoug.
TCU - They have gone from 9th to 55th. They have consistently been in a decline overall. However, they do have potential.
KS - KS has ranged from 114th to 126th. That sucks. The ACC doesn't need any more programs like this.
AZ - They have ranged from 86th to 106th. That sucks. No thank you
AZ ST. They have gone from 54th to 88th, but did just have a great year, so they are on a 1 year high.
CO They have been consistently bad ranging from 95th to 116th. They are riding high this last year with Deon but lost some good players. They will slip again.
WV They have fallen off the map like VT going from 28th to 66th. They are trending wrong big time but have Rodriguez back.
UCONN - They have been awful ranging from 99th to 125th. They are good in BB, but we don't need any teams like this
USF - They have gone from 60th to 123rd. No thanks, trending in wrong direction
Washington ST - They have ranged from 53rd to 79th. Not what we need.
Oregon ST. - They have ranged from 57th to 107th. Not consistent and not what we need.
NAVY - They have gone from 50th to 84th. Not what we need.

Other teams

Baylor has gone from 81st to 58th, some positive movement but not that great
Houston has gone from 42nd to 63rd
IA ST has gone from 87th to 61st. They are making improvement. VT should hire this coach away IMO.
