Again, we are propping up a true enemy by capitulating to Russia. Putin has no reason to negotiate now that his opponent will run out of arms. I'll be interested to see how this strategy speeds the end of the war through negotiation. It actually puts Russia in a position of not wanting to negotiate. Putin would rather take more territory through fighting and declare a military victory.
I am all for facilitating a negotiated peace. I have no problem with trying to leverage Ukraines mineral rights to get some money back either. However, giving Russia a victory is BAD for us. Putin will feel emboldened that the US will never stand up to him.

If all that is true, why isn’t Ukraine wiped off the map right now? You’re saying that this move is so pro-Putin and pro-Russia, why aren’t they just going crazy right now? After the casualties they’ve suffered surely this psycho Putin feels justified to retaliate yet he doesn’t. It doesn’t make sense. There’s absolutely no way Russia or Putin are mistaking this as weakness from Trump. Whatever you think about Trump we can probably all agree that world leaders find him unpredictable but not weak.
When your TV is telling you that the man negotiating for peace is an evil fascist dictator while the man agitating for World War 3 is a hero of freedom and democracy then it's probably time to turn off your TV.

All I’m saying is, if hypothetically the President was a Russian asset working to advance Russia’s interests and also erode the country from within, what would they be doing differently than what the Trump administration is doing in regards to the Russia/Ukraine war?
Well, since this literally just happened, Russia hasn't had a chance to react to it. Let' see how fast they come to the table and if it is a true negotiation or if it is a capitualtion giving them everything they want.
Ukraine tried (probably did) buy influence from Biden. I get it. Zelensky denied Trump in 2019, I get it. But only one of the parties is a threat to the U.S., and that is Russia.
Please give us your version of how it should be done then since you are so up in arms about how President Trump is doing it.
Here's the correct version: "We don't negotiate with terrorists. We don't negotiate with dictators/dictatorships who commit crimes against humanity. Instead, we ally with other democracies and promote freedom throughout the globe."

You do understand that serious warfare is no longer fought with troops right? Russia has advanced super sonic missle systems and 5500 nuclear warheads that we know about. Ukraine can’t sniff that. Russia could wipe them out if they wanted to but they know they’d be kicking off a war with US. This ain’t WWII.
What benefit does Trump receive by “capitulating” to Russia? A cease fire? In other words, tell me why you think he’d be just “giving them everything they want” six weeks into his term. What’s the play?

I grew up close to Clemson in the 70s. Half my relatives are democrats. I just look at what I think is right and wrong. As President Trump says this admin is bringing back common sense. I am not rich by a long shot. I come from a textile mill family. I agree with the vast majority of President Trumps viewpoints on issues and its that simple. I am behind him as much as anyone could be currently and love the man dearly. He is attempting to do what no one has tried to do which is fix the USA. He is for the USA first and foremost and thats what I want. The USA has no vested interest in Ukraine in reality. We are 36T in debt and cannot afford to shit money away all over the world anymore. DOGE is showing that our govt has been robbing us blind for decades and that includes dems and repubs. I hate establishment repubs more than I hate dems. The dems at least tell you what they stand for. The slimy establishment repubs talk a great game and then stab you in the back when it hurts the most. We will not agree on many issues but I admire your intensity and the way you appear to care about it. We all need to care about what the fricking politicians are doing in DC. I trust President Trump to do whats right for America and thats the plain easy reason I support him. I do not call it isolationism but instead call it common sense. With the current debt spiral we have to fix it or we are going down and thats a fact.

You do understand that war is not about obliterating the enemy off the face of the earth? If troops are not needed, why does the US still maintain the Army? Why is it the largest branch?
War is just politics done through different means. Russia needs to control as much territory for negotiating leverage. Boots on the ground are still required. If Russia's goal is to gain most of the territory in Ukraine to include ports, grain, minerals and oil, why would Russia risk any of that with supersonic missiles and nuclear warheads? Unless I am misunderstanding your point.

Where were all the patriotic democrats politicians and media when they knew we had an invalid for potus and covered for him? You know people who spent time with him knew he was not mentally capable and could not carry put his duties as potus, but no one said a thing until it was clear he would lose the election. Then, suddenly stories start to make their way out about his mental ability to the public- at least the ones that were too stupid or blinded by ideology to see it or admit it when it was perfectly clear to many from just tv coverage.

They were initially fighting in Donbas as those are Russian people living in Ukraine that wanted independence. They’ve since moved in 2021 to prevent NATO from eastern expansion. It’s not that difficult to understand. We would do the same thing if china tried to import their allies to Canada and encroach on our border.
My point on ground troops is simple. Your side keeps lying. Saying stuff like you did above that’s quoted. If that was truly what they wanted why are they dicking around with tanks. They could have all that tomorrow with a couple of middle strikes. He’s never been stronger than now after we’ve eliminated our military aid yet they do nothing. Maybe you’re on the wrong side. No I’m saying they didn’t invade based what your side is claiming. Ports, minerals land etc. The invasion in 2014 was a response to the Donbas crisis. Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine seeking independence from Ukraine.
I’m not sure why the expansion of nato into Ukraine being deemed troublesome by Russia needs to be explained. Surely you understand that. But for fun. What do you think Americas response would be if china, or there war fighting allies, funded to the tits with weapons and money from china, expanded into the Caribbean and Canada??
