Already soaring gas prices could reach $7 a gallon, one expert warns

We had the much lower priced gas and near the lowest recorded unemployment at the same time under Trump. herp derp yourself...LOL!! For icing on the cake families also had more discretionary income under Trump than Bush, Obama and certainly Doofus Joe.
Ha but Trump is still the president so you should be blaming him! 😂

I have never been in support of foreign intervention in most cases. Its one of the reasons I support Trump as he is against it also.
Guess he does get credit for consistency for dodging the Vietnam draft

In retrospect, Biden will be seen as Jimmy Carter, except not a good person.

I spent some time with a business school friend who works at Boeing in a role that keeps him in step with the energy sector. He is a small-government conservative who reluctantly voted for Trump twice. I was fully expecting him to rail on Biden over gas prices, but he didn't. He believes Biden's policies are going to hurt us in the future. He places the current situation mostly on Trump.

I was not aware of this, but in April 2020, when oil was nearing $0 (and he was telling us COVID would go away in a few weeks), Trump pushed OPEC nations to significantly reduce oil production for two years. At the time, this was seen as a sound move to save the American oil industry. Of course, we can see how it affects the American consumer.

In 2021, Biden pushed OPEC to increase production and reduce demand (and costs), but they are still in the agreement and would only do it partially. Sources below, flame away.

So what’s your opinion on Biden’s performance as President?

I have answered that question from other posters in other threads. I am not going to waste my time answering it when you ask because I know that I will spend my valuable time providing a thoughtful response, and all I will get from you in return is a snarky one-liner. There are posters that I often disagree with, but at least they can have a worthwhile discussion (hell, @scotchtiger has even convinced me to look at a few things differently).

It actually goes back to Reagan.

This was a foreign issue that Trump was attempting to mediate. They were flooding the market basically, but go ahead and try and spin the story to make Trump look bad.

fantastic. You admit that happened. Which means you just admitted that Trump’s policies have contributed to the current high oil prices that we ar experiencing. I think this is a huge breakthrough for you. Well done!

Dems will never let a crisis go to waste. They will attempt to shift all blame for horrendous debilitating inflation to Putin. What a crock of cow dung!!

You are either a completely irrational person, or a troll.
Whats irrational about a link to a factually correct article? I mean if you know where we can get some signficantly less expensive gas then please share.

What's irrational is your admitting that Trump got OPEC to reduce oil production for two years, but then refusing to admit that Trump has any responsibility for the current price of gas.

He was all about us being energy independent. Don’t be silly… you know what Trump was for.

Your vote stopped it all. Hope you’re pleased.

I don't care what he was "for". I care about what he "did". His actions had a direct effect on the current extremely high gas prices we are seeing. That is a fact, jack.
You look very desperate lately. You have nothing to cling to with any substance.

Congrats on your election.

I provided substance above, articles from the WSJ, and a non-partisan energy website. These prove the accuracy of my statement. As usual, you cannot provide a counter other than snarky, little bitch ass comments. I know it is hard when someone provides facts that disrupt your happy little echo chamber. But you should probably be used to it now.

You are not worth any more of my time.

It’s honestly sad you can’t admit what a failure President Biden is.

Have some character.

Think about this one bro. Russia and OPEC were over pumping oil to the point that it was so cheap that it was going to cause US independent oil producers to lose money, so he was talking with them to cut production at that time which was a very smart move. Gas was cheap and there was no inflation at that time. The situation now is vastly different. I strongly disagree with the opinion what Trump did then has anything to do with todays mess.

Do you understand supply and demand? Probably not.

I do understand and my comments are consistent with that. If not please explain why. I will own it if you can make me understand that I am somehow wrong.

Disgraceful moves by the Biden admin. Instead of immediately reversing the EO's they put in place to stifle American Energy Production or even calling in the CEO's of the big energy producers in the US, they are going to Iran, Venezuela, and OPEC begging for them to increase the flow further enriching dictators.

Biden is/has been a complete failure. I’m certain a large portion of independents, dems, and even liberals wish they could go back and vote for Trump.

If given the choice between Biden and Trump 1000 times, I would vote for Biden 1000 times. I am actually shocked that any true-blooded American could support Trump after his actions from the night of the election to the end of January 2021.
If Trump did something that should cause every American to not support him, shouldn't that thing be illegal or something? I mean if someone did something of that caliber, you would think those actions would result in some sort of legal consequences, no? It's amazing to me that even people with sufficient intelligence to know better, talk like Trump not only orchestrated, planned and sent written directions on how to precede on Jan 6, but also was there telling them not just to protest, but yelling for them to storm the capital.
Also, Clinton and the democratic party colluded and lied to the govt and fisa court to try and take down a political rival. Somehow the country should be ok with that as well as their support for numerous riots that resulted in massive property loss, occupation of and destruction of federal buildings, and murder of innocent victims during said riots. Where is your outrage at those matters?

The msm slogan now is its patriotic to be happy to pay much higher gas prices to support Ukraine and they are telling us that a vast majority of Americans are more than happy to stomach this cost for Ukraine. Wow!!!

Republicans were behind the push to cut off Russian oil imports but we know they aren't honest brokers. I bet you'll never highlight this point.

"There’s been some discussion, as Congress and the White House had kicked around the idea of the ban, as to whether Republicans were “laying a trap” for Democrats.
“They’re demanding he take actions that will raise gasoline prices,” Washington Post columnist Catherine Rampell wrote this week, “with obvious plans to attack him politically after the prices rise.”
