Files for bankruptcy after poor sales across U.S.
That business has been slowly dying for years, courtesy of Amazon
Not sure how others are staying in business. I feel like 90% of everything we buy is from Amazon. 90% of our groceries are delivered too, but at least that comes from local stores. Same with restaurant delivery. COVID resulted is some systemic changes that drastically improved convenience, but at the expense of some traditional business models.

I also buy items from Amazon but some items are cheaper at other places. I usually use Amazon more as a place to compare prices to other sites.
Plus, I buy locally when I can (even if I DON'T save a few bucks) so that when I need something now, I can get it. We've a locally owned hardware store on main street here in Pocatello. I typically go there instead of Home Depot or Lowes when I can.I also buy items from Amazon but some items are cheaper at other places. 100% convenience for us. Don’t even price shop outside of expensive stuff. As soon as we think about needing something, add it to the Amazon cart. Staples like paper towels, toilet paper, kids vitamins, you name it is on auto order. I bet we average 15+ Amazon boxes a week.

Covid & E commerce put the nail in the coffin. Got to adapt and change with the times.
Serious question: why do you take this stance with Bed, Bath and Beyond, but obviously blame the 10% layoff at 3M (in a different thread) on the current administration?
One is a retail store the other one is a manufacturing company that produces over 60k different products.
The biggest difference is B,B& B has been slowly dwindling away for many years. I think B,B,& B was on it's way out before covid. jmo
Covid actually help 3M's healthcare sales . As you may know they make N95 mask along with other healthcare products. 3M makes so many different products when sales in one division slows the other divisions will carry it.
The plant I worked in makes box sealing tape used for shipping product's. A lot of our customers are companies like Amazon, UPS , Grainger & and others that sale through e-commerce and ship .
The cost of making many of 3M products is based on the cost of crude oil since it is used in most all manufacturing of plastic and adhesive product's. The increase cost of all fossil fuels in the U.S. hurt manufacturing companies.
