More like the class of folks several layers underneath the rogans, folks with under 500k followers with local or niche influence. Trump campaign and the movement fostered and then took advantage of that energy exceptionally.

Sure. I'd argue you/we are a victim of what I'm describing above though. Echo chambers filled with vitriol and an us vs them mentality made you over index the "banshee screaming" or the "fascism" and make a decision about your/my support as a result.

In our curated world (by big tech) these things are a huge deal and everyone cares and everyone is doing it.

Outside those echo chambers (that, of course, exist on both sides) real people don't know anything about politics, policy, or liberal banshee screaming. Folks are just trying to get through the day.

The folks on this board publicly discussing politics represent a tiny tiny proportion of the population.

Nope. It's more simple than this. And the takeaway isn't that people voted against Dems, it's that people voted FOR Trump.

More people than not think the system and the country is broken. Trump said, yup, agreed. Shit is broken. I can fix it and it's their fault it's broken. Dems said, wellll, it's actually not broken and really good for more people than not and we are going to keep us going down the path we are already on, because actually, it's not really broken and gas prices are the fault of opec not us and inflation isnt our fault etc etc.

This was an easy choice for most people.

And if Dems run newsome/pritzker/Shapiro/polis/whitmer against a populist, we will lose again and again!

The problem hitting me is much of the Democratic Party folks have become based on what I think "TRIBAL"

republicans are at the moment in a sweet spot

Me I am an independent following what I believe is best for the country and my community

we need more bi -partisanship and less partisanship

the country and all of us folk need people elected to try to do good

too much elected to do good and that politician does really good for themselves
