Big Beautiful Bill - Passes House, Now On To Senate - Elon Says Trump In Epstein Files

So we can all avoid a painstaking replay of your tax gripes, let me amend my statement to say it will cause pain for anyone who makes less than you, whatever that % is.

It's pretty clear that millions will lose coverage due to the Medicaid reforms and the weakening of the ACA.

Millions of illegals and freeloaders. Happy!!!

Started as a Bunch Of Bloated Bullshit and is still a bunch of bloated bullshit.

We are back to "You have to pass the bill to see what's in it" - Nancy Pelosi. Politicians are all the same.

Elon is not a voting member of congress. His idea of inclusion is running the show and making final decisions. They will hash this out. Trump is running the show.

Donald J. Trump Truth Social 06.05.25 04:06 PM EST

I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago. This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress. It’s a Record Cut in Expenses, $1.6 Trillion Dollars, and the Biggest Tax Cut ever given. If this Bill doesn’t pass, there will be a 68% Tax Increase, and things far worse than that. I didn’t create this mess, I’m just here to FIX IT. This puts our Country on a Path of Greatness. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

I agree Trump is running the show, but he needs to honor what he campaigned on.

But I don’t like the bill. America is addicted to spending and debt. This bill will undoubtedly increase both.

I’m team Elon, Massie, and Rand Paul.

I’m sick of our politicians getting rich while we pay for it through inflation.

Its corruption at its finest. How do we have politicians that make $174,000 a year end up multi millionaires? The whole thing is a sham and I’m tired of it.

Cut the spending and thus cut the corruption.

"The Congressional Budget Office just released its final numbers on the House Republican plan, and the results are a master class in reverse Robin Hood economics. If this passes, the country will lose $3.7 trillion in revenue and add $2.4 trillion to the national debt, all so the ultra wealthy can enjoy even bigger tax breaks. Meanwhile, nearly 11 million people are set to lose their health insurance by 2034. It is a plan so lopsided, you almost have to admire the audacity.

In a twist, even a few Republicans are speaking out against the plan—but not for any noble reasons. Elon Musk, never one to miss a headline, called the proposal a “disgusting abomination” because it adds way too much to the deficit. Senators like Rand Paul and Ron Johnson are wringing their hands over fiscal responsibility, citing their pathological obsession with America’s debt and warning that the ballooning deficit is “immoral.” But let’s be real: these blood suckers do not care about the millions of poor and working class Americans about to get steamrolled. Their only concern is that the bill is not cruel or “efficient” enough.

So yes, there is some Republican opposition, but it is not coming from a place of compassion. They are not losing sleep over families losing coverage or kids going without care. They just cannot stomach a deficit this big—unless, of course, it comes with even deeper cuts for everyone but the rich."

I am just seeing a lot of this. Elon went below the belt imo with some of his xposts and we know Trump will not take much without hitting back. Hope it settles down but much worse than I had thought would occur at any point.

Trump is not wrong. Elon Musk is not wrong.

Elon is working under the assumption that Congress actually wants to do the job and wants to save our country.

Trump is working under the reality that these people are absolute scum and you cannot get anything perfect passed through the current legislators.

We’d all love a bill that’s eliminates the entire IRS, gets rid of all the pork and government and completely guts to the administrative state.

It wouldn’t get 20 votes in the House.

The bill on the floor is about as good as it’s going to get with this current crap of Congress. I’d rather have that than nothing.

Elon is not wrong. And he is not our enemy.

By your incorrect statements and lack of direct involvement. If you are in the govt then tell us.
What incorrect statements? I'm starting off with a simple spreadsheet that shows major spending categories. Anyone can look at it for major spending areas.

Table 3.2 /Column A/ 'Functions and Subfunctions'

Obama whitehouse archives? LMFAO!!!

Yes, Because the Trump White House does not have this data up yet. I am still looking for the Biden data. Stop laughing and get to work identifying the subfunctions you would cut from and how much. About $1.8 trillion.
I'm not interested in perusing line items from the Obama archives with you. I put my trust in Trump to get us the best deal he can at the current time.

Good info.

Most Americans get the mission behind President Trump's historic 'One Big, Beautiful Bill.' But, there's been some back and forth.

Here's what you need to know ⬇️

FACT: President Trump's 'One Big, Beautiful Bill' was designed by the President himself, his team, and his closest MAGA allies in Congress to deliver the MAGA agenda.

This is the President's vision.

No bill is perfect, but we have a once-in-a-lifetime bill to deliver EXACTLY what @POTUS promised: lower taxes, a secure border, strong military, and reining in spending. And with only 51 votes!

It's simple: President Trump won HUGE in November. He helped us deliver a House and Senate GOP majority. It's our job to help him deliver the MAGA agenda.

As we speak, many of us are still working with the White House on improving this bill in the Senate.

Keep in mind: this reconciliation process can ONLY be used for non-discretionary (aka mandatory) spending. Stick with me. All that means is because President Trump's MAGA bill only requires 51 votes vs 60, there are strict limits on what can be included.

The appropriations process is how we can aggressively cut more discretionary spending (already in the works). Plus, we've got the rescissions process (@WhiteHouse sends Congress a package of funding to cut) to make @DOGE cuts permanent.

It's a lot of government lingo, but we'll do our best to keep breaking it down. Bottom line: trust President Trump. He made a lot of promises on the trail, and this bill delivers.

This bill does NOT deliver ... debt/deficit reduction, lower inflation, lower interest rates, services (like good health care) to all 330 Americans

Not totally unreasonable.

For SALT, I'd like to see them convert it from a dollar amount to a % of income. Still caps the high-tax states without penalizing those of us working hard in normal states like SC. The cap hurts me significantly in SC. We pay wayyyyyyy over the $10K state tax limit. Back of the napkin, the $10K cap costs me around $26K per year in extra federal tax, which is total bullshit. The cap should be something like 8% of total income.

I'm also okay trashing the overtime and tip tax cuts. They don't make sense at all.

Trash a lot of the pork.

Keep deep Medicaid reforms.

Keep the legislation on suppressors.

Makes total sense. That money isn’t being spent in our economy. It’s not helping local American businesses. Yet our economy is what allows for that money to be earned. We should take a cut. Makes far more sense than raising taxes on Americans who spend their money in America.
Ah so you want to take money from people that clearly earned it but you don’t want people taking money from what you earned.

Makes total sense.

What? They already are taking money from what I earn. Guarantee I pay more in taxes than 99++% of those sending money abroad.

Of what I get to keep, nearly all of my spending goes back into the US economy. It supports American businesses, large and small. It’s also taxed locally at a greater clip than 3.5%. That can’t be said for money shipped abroad.
