Hadn’t seen it addressed in the whole Bielema-Beamer thread but apparently Briana clarified after the game that he didn’t do the “T” signal to mock Beamer for complaining about late substitutions. He was calling him out for the fake on the kickoff return. I hadn’t seen it initially but their returner did the “T” signal on a kickoff in the third quarter and then caught it and threw it to Nyck Harbor across the end zone to return it. They only got to the 25 anyway.
That signal is not recognized by officials as a fair catch but is supposed to show all the players on the field that the kick won’t be returned to minimize collisions. So Beamer used something agreed upon in the coaching ranks for player safety to try to trick the other team. Classy dude.
