Just to be fair and objective in my assessment of Cade, since I'm mostly outspoken on here about his strengths and potential, I just re-watched that last play, 4th and 6, from several angles and he totally dropped a turd in the punch bowl there.
He was 100% going to TJ there before the snap and barring a pash rush, that was a done deal. He had 2 high safeties and the one over the top on 0 had already committed to running up to cut off TJs crossing route -- he was moving hard to the LOS while Cade was still dropping back. It gave an easy td throw to 0 who was running a post and had inside leverage on his db. 2nd safety was not in position to assist on 0.
The only explanation that I can imagine as to why Cade didn't see that safety coming down hard right in TJs path- and knowing that it would be leaving 0 with an easy TD is that he was committed to that throw no matter what and locked in on it pre-snap.
He played his best game of the season, given the defense and one dimensional offense, but those little decisions like the one above are what he's got to fix this offseason. Honestly it's been his biggest hurdle since he got here, but it surprised me to see him revert back to it on the last play - I felt like he'd outgrown that by this game.
If he tightens those up - seeing the field with anticipation better ... which i believe he will - then he might very well challenge DW4 and Trevor next year. He's that good.
