Reading around the internet, some soft voices are calling for the Big 12 and the ACC to 'call the bluff' of the Big 2.
The NCAA is toothless and we all know it. They know it.
Would a 'National Champion' Playoff comprised of the Big 2 without ND, Power 5, ACC and Big 12 ..REALLY be the NC?
Certainly, it would be a really good team.
Certainly millions would watch it.
Just as Certainly, there would be an *(asterisk) by the Title.
Sure those two have the biggest schools. And, the biggest fanbases. And the biggest Money.
But, these are desperate times. I'm sure Jim Phillips is waayy ahead of me when thinking outside of the box - er, casket - as the one alive is a Muppet.
But, why not? (lots of reasons)
Have TWO Championships. The Big 2 and the American College Football Championship.
It would be 'the lesser' to start, but how much so?
Any of you guys NOT watching Clemson play for a national trophy? Nope.
And, none of the other team's fans would pass on it either.
Yes, it would be based, all around, on lesser budgets to start. But pitch it to Fox, etc. YOU DA MAN EXCLUSIVELY programming the ACFC Playoff. Wouldn't get ESPN money now...........but
