So they flag the fact that the US and UK govt are monitoring, restricting, censoring, etc free speech and your response is a national security issue? Also, they obviously aren't the whistleblowers ........so not sure how they are anything other than journalists publishing a story (you know, like journalist used to do before they all sold out)

I think you're using the word "journalist" rather loosely - I'd use the more accurate term "hack". This is the same guy that claimed AOC pushed to get a nuclear plant closed before she was even elected, among other things.
Here's an example of what his disinformation campaign could affect. In 2020 when the Russians realized that we were on to them, they paid American journalists to publish fake stories that would influence the election under an outlet called Peace Data. When the FBI learned about it, they reached out to social media companies to alert them, which diffused the spread of their interference campaign.
Not sure why anyone would have a problem with that but what you really oppose is the push to stop the Right's indiscriminate lying that attempts to influence election fraud claims and even public health initiatives. Nobody wants to take away anyone's right to say things that are true - nobody.

The FBI verified the laptop was real before it ever went public, or did you miss that part?
Twitter is not the FBI so if they didn't have that confirmation(which they didn't) what does it matter anyway? This laptop story is the dumbest excuse for Trump's loss I've ever heard. The Right is pissed that they didn't get to "insinuate" that Biden was corrupt, even though nothing on the laptop confirmed that notion.
