Apparently Dabo put all the staff on notice last year. Maybe he did, mabye he didn’t. Let’s assume he did. The results would be one of three things.

1. Come out swinging and fight your way to a better place
2. Come out swinging but at end of day no change because you don’t have what it takes
3. Cower in the corner and completely fail.

So what have we seen with the coaches

Offense

Spiller- option 3. He unit has digressed, no grit no toughness.
Richardson- option 2. Brinny’s game last night was at least some swings but overall digressed from last year
Grisham- option 1 (so far) WR are improved. Stellato is a win, Williams when healthy has improved. Biggest issue is Grisham was a slot guy and that appears to be where his strength in coaching lies. Need to improve 1:1 balls to outside guys. Unit seems to lack toughness
Austin- Option 3- Complete failure, unit is soft and slow.

Defense-

Hall- Option 3 Only difference maker is a true Freshman, No development with upper classman, unit plays soft
Eason- Option 3. Arguably most talented unit on the team. Regressed two years in a row
Goodwin- Option 2. Overall as DC has shown some life, but as LB coach, meh. Love Carter but do any of our LB shown playmaking ability.
Conn- Option 1. Safety play is improved, but with experience should we see more
Reed- Option 1. Corner has improved

I think all of this is a pretty damning indictment of not making more moves last year. What “manager” “supervisor” “boss” has 50% of their people as underperformers??

However biggest question is when does Dabo start making moves? In season ? before bowl (if we make one)? after bowl?
