The bill is 1400 pages long.
They had less than 1 minute a page to read the bill before the vote. If you read for one day straight without stopping to pee or eat, you still wouldn’t finish the bill. Even at 30s per page that is ridiculous.

I'd honestly be okay with the raise if they simultaneously banned stock trading while in congress. $174K/yr does seem low for that job. But we all know they get in it for the kickbacks, insider trading, influence peddling and other financial benefits that aren't in the best interest of the US.
Exactly. A raise is probably fine in and of itself, but sneaking it in an omnibus bill that is supposed to be a “continuing resolution”, especially after the people just voted for Doge was a slap in the face to the people.
The richest, unelected Karen in the history of the world should be giving his money to the cause, not taking it from arbitrary programs that he finds too woke. The optics of this filthy mogul destroying programs/departments that benefit the lesser advantaged will not be pretty.
