It's an astronomically high amount of pay considering what they've been doing to us. They should have to live in a dorm while Congress is in session and they should be paid what a captain in the military is paid. They should also be on VA benefits. No special treatment. It's supposed to be public service not having the public serve them.
All government spending is taxation. Every last penny. Even when we aren't being taxed to pay for it. You could be argued it is especially the case in those circumstances and every dollar spent right now is purely deficit spending. We have to stop it!
The squealing and distortion tactics by people like the above is glorious. Let them complain all they want. They are horrible people who are doing horrible things to our country. Their time is up!
We have to stop Joes inflation. Not possible with this level of spending. Democrats have financially sickened our country, we must fix it!

I never heard anyone complaining about Soros or bezos or gates or buffet. I’m not saying it’s right, but where were your concerns when it was in your advantage?
That’s kind of my point. People aren’t doing that job for low pay. They are subsidizing moderate salaries with nefarious income sources and it’s bad for the country. Shut down the other stuff and I’m fine with higher pay. I sure as shit wouldn’t do that job for what it pays.
This is where I stand. I don’t think they should get as much side stuff, be able to insider trade etc. But I also don’t want only low level community service organizers who may have the absolute greatest intentions and be pure of heart, but not uniquely competent either.
Exactly. You want highly competent people to want the job, so it needs to be rewarding. Now you have a lot of sleezy people pining for the job because you make the real money in sleezy ways.
It's both sides inflation. It's both sides spending and reckless governments. Don't make this about just one side because it's about both. We've received horrible leadership in governance from both parties for a long time. That's why our debt is where it is now.
Are you serious? You never heard anyone complaining about those guys? There’s over 1000 threads on this site alone that mention those guys. They’re varying levels of shit and also not helpful in most cases. Again, two wrongs or something like that.

We are keeping an eye on the pubs too as evidenced by yesterday's events. Pubs were trying to pass it too, but we called them out. Dems will still vote for it if they could. They haven't shown any interest in holding their politicians accountable.
People who care about the economy and fabric of this nation have to stop being willing to be the Washington Generals in this game.
