TI faithful — I’m not going comment on the game (per se), but I did want to comment on the DV experience today.
I currently live up in Virginia and haven’t had an opportunity to go to many Clemson home games since I graduated in 2001 (this was my fifth since then). I flew down to go to the game with my daughter (a Clemson student) and was almost stunned at how dull the crowd was (minus the last few minutes of the game). To be fair, we were sitting way up in TDK, row JJ, so that likely affected the acoustics, but I left almost more upset about that subpar experience than I did about the outcome (not quite, but close).
My daughter and I sat next to a family who went to Penn State, and they “politely” commented that Death Valley wasn’t what they thought it was. That ticked me off more than the Carolina fans surrounding us at the end of the game….
I hope that was an unfortunate series of events for us and not indicative of a decline in fan fervor….
At any rate, I’m stoked for the opportunity to reclaim our ACC title.
