Using a chainsaw instead of a scalpel doesn't help a soul because not only are the people doing the cutting not qualified to decide what should be cut, they don't give a rip about the downstream consequences.

These aren't just numbers they're cutting, these are people's lives they're destroying on a whim. And it's not as noble as you think because anyone with a lick of sense knows they're doing it for their ulterior motive of giving themselves a windfall tax cut. So the poor will get poorer while the rich will become disgustingly, absurdly rich at everyone else's expense.

And Elon doing it with glee just comes across as evil, but even worse, the Right is rejoicing at the destruction of all these people's lives and you're all coming across as cruel and inhumane to the rest of us.

So sure, cutting back on spending is fine, but not this way it's not and that's what you're missing.
