That's one that actually really upsets me. My wife and I spend a lot of time at National and State Parks backpacking, hiking, and kayaking. I just got back from Joshua Tree National Park. Those folks are doing a great job getting Americans outside and enjoying our Natural Treasures.

It's tragic and the most concerning part is that we won't know for a while how catastrophic all of this will play out until we find out we're screwed no matter where we turn. And to think the majority of it didn't need to happen but for the prioritization of Elon's tax cut. Screw everyone who isn't in the 1%.

I have seen multiple posts from fired Park Rangers and employees who were working in WNC to help repair from Helene.

It's their throwing the Baby out with the bathwater approach that is insane to me.

Brilliant!

A DOGE dividend. Return the money to the American people.

If dpic wants to divvy his share up to USAID he is more than welcome to. It’s America after all.

Does this mean I will get a refund instead of a huge tax bill this year? That would be nice but it's dirty money to me so I don't want it. Give it all to the people he fired.

You are welcome to do that if you please.

The two biggest resignations in the TAXGate scandal thus far would appear to be

1. The Treasury guy that screamed in horror and resigned when DOGE showed up and said they had authorization to look at the payments system

and

2. The Social Security lady that shrieked in terror and resigned after DOGE showed up to look at the books and started finding a lot of funky stuff

Remember what I've been saying:

There's a tiny but VERY influential cult made up of some super-duper-wealthy families behind the CIA/MIC/ICS that gives the orders.

They carefully make sure the 'right' people are given the important jobs to keep the fraud machinery humming merrily along.

And the moment DOGE showed up these carefully placed people had their brains lock up.

THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. They had always been able to keep anybody from seriously pulling the curtain back, but DOGE had full authority, so all the cult's people could do was refuse to cooperate and resign.

YOU WILL SEE MORE OF THIS.

When enough of this gets exposed, you're going to start seeing people making a run for it to get out of the country.

Understand that in his first term, Trump either came in knowing or quickly came to the realization **he would not have control of most of the Federal Leviathan**, and he had to work around that.

What's that hand I see there?

"Yeah well Trump 's not doing ANYTHING in this 2nd term that he couldn't have done in is first term, right?"

Technically, you're correct.

Trump **COULD HAVE** moved to gut USAID, abolish the DoE, move to get access to the Treasury payment system, audit the IRS, audit Social Security, audit Medicaid, the DoD, etc. etc.

Absolutely true. HE COULD HAVE DONE THAT THE FIRST TIME.

So...why didn't he?

What's the point of trying to do all that when you don't have control of almost 70% of the Executive Branch, except on paper and in theory?

Now, it's true. He **still** doesn't have full control. BUT HE HAD ENOUGH in this second term to hit the ground running quickly with a plan to ASSERT more and more control by going exactly where he didn't the first time around.

Trump can give orders to do amazing things this 2nd term because THIS TIME HE KNOWS HE WILL POLITICALLY SURVIVE GIVING SUCH ORDERS.

That's the first thing. THE PUBLIC IS BEHIND HIM.

Here's the second thing: The Federal Leviathan covers it's corruption behind a thick veil of secrecy and redundant obsolescence.

THAT'S WHERE ELON AND THE DOGE TECH GENIUSES WITH 180 IQ'S COME IN.

They're NOT going to be able to hide anything from Trump like they were in the first term.

Trump would order certain things to be done and the Permanent Bureaucracy Hydra [PBH] would hide from him that it wasn't doing anything.

So much of the corruption was hidden from Trump, and the fact they weren't following Executive Orders and Executive Actions was also hidden behind the curtain.

Well...THIS TIME AROUND, thanks to Elon and DOGE, the PBH is slowly realizing - much to it's horror - that they CAN'T HIDE ANYTHING from Trump any longer.

Trump is not only asserting himself, he's asserting himself **effectively**.

The more Trump and Elon gain access where the PBH is desperately trying to freeze them out, the more CONTROL they are asserting as they expose more and more corruption and begin instituting reforms.

ELON'S TECH SUPPORT is not just a nice funny meme. It's literally how Trump is going to slay the PBH and topple the CIA/MIC/ICS House of Cards in his second stint in the White House.

And that's a beautiful thing!

This is the way

You forgot about our $36 trillion debt.
We will be rewarded by having long term interest rates come down.

If that $5000 can stimulate the economy so that it produces returns in excess of $5000 that would be great. We could use the excess to pay down the debt too.

There is an economic science we should follow to figure that out. I favor what the science says, whatever that may be

What happened the last time we put a bunch of money in the hands of all Americans?

Inflation. But that’s also the reason for doge.

We can logically conclude, that if doge rings down inflation by .5%, that it’s ok to give part of that savings back to the people who got ripped off in the first place.

What's annoying is the constant tweets by Musk claiming this stuff, with no context, and then not admitting the errors.

I am totally onboard with an audit and check on costs but It makes it hard to take it seriously when they are acting the way they are. Show some professional behavior.

Had this discussion yesterday with my closest friend who's a Musk fanboy. I wish there was some vetting done on this info before it's released, because it's impossible to put toothpaste back in the tube once the RW disinformation machine gets ahold of this stuff. It just blows my mind they're just releasing everything without reviewing it first, and then when it comes out there's a mistake they don't even walk it back.

Print media does the same shit when they have to issue a retraction it's done on the 7th page instead of the front page where the original story was typically placed.

Like you said, the problem is once it hits the RW disinformation chamber it's there forever. We can all name 10 things that are repeated as truth ad nauseum that have been completey disproven.

"It has nothing to do with government efficiency, the workers who were fired today actually bring in revenue for the government," Schlossberg said. "It's really about stealing the past and about generating propaganda."

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey shared a similar sentiment to Schlossberg.

"Donald Trump and Elon Musk's thoughtless crusade has caused an iconic institution and economic driver to close in Massachusetts," Healey said in a statement.

"The JFK Library plays an essential role in our state and nation's history, our travel and tourism sector, and our economy. We hope that this closure will be temporary and urge President Trump and DOGE to reverse course so that the library can reopen to continue educating visitors and contributing to our economy."

Elon Musk is lying to you but there's no way to fact-check him because he fired everyone who understood the system, so instead of asking anyone to explain it, he decided to act like a corrupt toddler and blast this out to the world. And look who's helping him - the owner of LibsofTikTok lol. Damn, we have fallen so far as a country.

Meh, would rather see them apply it to the debt.

But if they do all pay it back, I assume we all agree it should be paid based on how much taxes you’ve paid, right? In other words, if I’ve paid 20X in taxes compared to another person, my share is 20X their’s.

I would agree with that, up to a certain threshold, where many of them aren't paying by their share due to write offs, etc.

I'm not smart enough to know where that limit is, maybe $5 million a year income?

Basically reward the middle class who will actually stimulate the economy and will have an impact

I have a lot of good friends (many not in the DC area) who have lost their jobs in the past two weeks simply because they were federal employees who:
1. Had joined the civil service within the past year (or past 2 years for some agencies)
2. Had recently transferred to a new agency
3. Had recently been promoted

These were honest, hardworking folks who genuinely cared about their jobs and their mission. They all had excellent performance reviews on the record. And yet, they lost their jobs via an after-hours email. I don’t understand how folks can find such joy in that. There’s a human cost here, and it can be seen in most every decently-sized community around the country. Please don’t lose sight of that.
Yeah there is a personal cost to downsizing government, or any business, for sure.
