You should always believe the media, especially fluff shows like Today!
No. They said the opposite. Said they were seeing drastic reduction in the virus with increased heat and humidity.
They also said the infection rate in NY was much higher than they originally thought. They said about 20% of the state had it already. So....if my math is correct and they weren't lying about those numbers.... There are 19.5 million people in NY state. 20% would be 3.9 million. 20,800 people have died. Thus the actual death rate is roughly 0.5% and potentially much lower than that. A very different picture than the 2.5-4% picture that was painted. But of course they failed to mention that.

CNN this morning ridiculed the notion that heat could kill the virus. And also there is no effective treatment. Any of the drugs that trump has mentioned are dangerous and ineffective as far as treating the virus. We’re all going to die, and we should all be terrified about the situation the president has put us in.

The virus has a layer of fat around it which would have no ability to withstand heat + humidity, it would melt.

I wouldn’t refer to CNN for anything. Biggest disgrace along with MSNBC that I have ever seen. I enjoy watching Trump bait those idiots at his news conferences. They invented the term Fake News. They brought all this mistrust on themselves. Began the day Trump announced he was a candidate for President and their harassment of him hasn’t stopped.

Sadly the President made a total idiot of himself with the comments about light and disinfectant. He just can't help himself. Those briefings need to be official just the facts and done. there are actually very early experimental treatments right now (not for COVID-19 but for other things) involving light activation of medication inside the body to increase effectiveness. Read a review article about it yesterday. The concept is there. The practice, not so much.
I watch CNN exclusively and so glad Chris Cuomo is out of quarantine. That video of him coming out of his basement had me in tears. So happy for him.

I prefer to look at policies and his policies have largely been good. He hasn't gotten us into a major war and he's done a lot of good things. I don't like him as a person. I hate people who talk about themselves all the time as though they did something. But when faced with the alternative, he looks pretty good. Give me someone better to vote for and I will vote for them. It shouldn't be so hard to find someone better but the Democrats managed to find someone worse. All their choices were worse. That's an impressive feat if you ask me.
And how many of those deaths being touted are actually Covid-19 ?? 85% of NY deaths had TWO other contributing factors... Most of these people were going to die anyway, the virus just took them out just like the flu and pneumonia do...

First, they don’t know how many people are/were infected. Second, even the most dismal predictions in the US were 1-2% death rate, and that was assuming only 50% of the population became infected. If that # goes to, let’s say a 60% infection rate in the US and the death rate falls to .5%, that’s still over 1million people that will die in the US. Without a vaccine, this thing is going to get really ugly this fall after everything opens back up.

The deal is that heat and humidity don't actually "kill" the virus. What heat and humidity do is to cut what is called the "half life" of the virus. For instance, if the virus is in a location where it would live 12 hours, you add heat and humidity and the virus would only live 6 hours. So, one could say heat and humidity kills it and one could it doesn't kill it. And you both would be right. Heat and humidity absolutely do not kill the virus instantly. That doesn't happen.
