When I see pictures of OL and DL recruits with their family, it’s interesting to see how tall Mom and Dad are as to what produced that big ol’ kid.
My grandfather was 6’8, Dad was 6’4 and I’m 6’6. I’ve got a daughter and son with my ex and she was 5’8.
Here I’m thinking I’m going to have a monster of a son for a future right tackle. My daughter ended up at 5’11 and my son also is 5’11. On top of that, my daughter was into sports and my son couldn’t care less.
(I’ll have another chance with grandkids as my daughter just married a 6’5 guy.)
Not that any of it matters but it’s interesting to me seeing how genetics play out especially when you see average size parents produce these
huge linemen.
