Calling all of the distance runners out there in TI land!
I recently registered for my first marathon, and am seeking some advice regarding training, supplements, gear, etc... I've run lots of 5Ks and 10Ks, plus two halfs previously (the most recent one being this past Thanksgiving), but I want to train and equip properly to work my way up to 26.2 miles.
Anyone have a good training plan or method that they have used and liked?
Do you use gels, electrolyte chews, or salt tablets to reenergize, rehydrate, and replenish throughout a race? If so, which ones do you prefer?
Do you use a waist belt to hold your phone and other items? If so, which one? (I've worn an armband for years while running, but am open to something new)
Which shoes are you rocking these days? I've always been partial to Brooks, but hear good things about Hoka.
I'm general, what don't I know today that I should learn?
