It's a waste of time trying to explain anything to these guys. They live in their own little world of disinformation and propaganda.
What they don't understand is that drilling is only going to create more "fuel" for a specific few generation sources. The infrastructure that supports those generation sources has been largely under invested in over the past couple of decades so that energy rates stay low and shareholders make more money. It’s the disgusting trend dating back decades of "make a quick buck now at the expense of future generations." Now energy prices are increasing because we have ignored them and the infrastructure is in desperate need of updating. This doesn't even begin to touch on the infrastructure issue due to abnormal weather trends the last few years. Beryl's gonna cost tax payers ~$30b in Houston alone since the infrastructure wasn't designed to deal with the increased wind damage.
