Was it the Korean woman? I saw on the local news last night there were 2 new cases. The woman had just gotten back from Korea which makes sense and a HS student. He hadn’t travelled anywhere so they can’t figure out how he got it. They closed his school for 3 days to do a deep clean

There are many things I wish Trump would do and say differently than he does, but this post is exact proof of what the media is able to do to the sheep in this country. It was painfully obvious to anyone with a functioning brain that Trump was calling the Democratic politicization of the virus a hoax, not the virus itself. Secondly, people freaking out about something with a lower than 2% kill rate need to toughen up. The entire reaction to all this is a complete embarrassment, and shows that the political discourse in this country is beyond repair when Trump can be called racist when he shuts down flights from China immediately, only to be chastised by those same people for not doing enough. Let's not act like both sides aren't politicizing this. Republicans are about to try and use this as an excuse to enact considerably tighter southern border control. It's what politicians do, regardless of which side of the aisle they're on.
The rest of what you said I agree with completely, I've been mostly a lifelong Democrat and I'm embarrassed by the left these days. It's not my party anymore.
I don’t necessarily disagree that both sides politicize things, but you can’t seriously compare scoring political points over a virus that isn’t near as bad as they want it to be to securing our borders. Ensuring national security by tightening up our borders is good governance, calling Trump a racist and then rushing to delete those tweets because you now do a 180 and need to make it look like he isn’t doing enough is pretty much treason in my book. Look what they are doing to the market because they want this disease to look 1 million times worse than it is. The Democratic Party no longer deserves to be called Americans if they desire failure so much because they hate the POTUS. And save me the both sides do it, no GOP officials were as blantant in rooting for America’s failure under Obama than what we are witnessing now.
The Democratic Party today is not the Democratic Party of just a handful of decades ago. It's very strange to me what happened to it, and I can't understand how it happened.

Coronavirus should be taken seriously, but so should other viruses and conditions. It’s new and it isn’t totally understood yet. We need common sense, not panic. 98% of people who contract this strain survive with supportive care and resolve the infection on their own, so the fact that we don’t have a cure yet is only a moderate concern.

The conservative press spent the entire Obama administration talking about how our country and economy were in shambles, crime and murder were rampant, Obama was a socialist who was setting up concentration camps to imprison dissidents, and of course the democrats were molesting children in a DC pizzeria. Man, this just isn't true. I know plenty of good, decent Trump supporters. I'm sure you do too. I don't understand why they support him, but casting the majority of Republicans as immoral, indecent people just isn't fair or reasonable. Most of them are just people who want what's best for their family. Both sides should want a strong candidate on both sides, not someone they'll plan on hating for 4-8 years.
