South Carolina Consumer Freedom Act

Is it time to change the law? I think the state put itself in an interesting spot by giving those sweetheart deals to Volvo and Volkswagen without a way to sell Polestars or Scouts directly to consumers in this state. Or to put it another way what were V and V thinking by building here without those laws secured? (Volvo is not the primary owner of Polestar any longer.) However, I would thought they and VW would have leveraged direct sales into the deals upfront. Or lobbied SC for more incentives for the electric vehicle market.
I did find the Polestar experience a bit different. I had to schedule an appointment at a showroom in ATL for a test drive. No traditional sales pitch. If I decided to buy just go to the website and "fill the cart." No haggling no back and forth. I did not pull the trigger. Is the Tesla, LUCID or Rivian experience similar?

Auto dealers rev up pressure on SC lawmakers amid Scout Motors' EV direct sales push
Scout Motors' bid to sell vehicles directly to consumers faces stiff headwinds in the South Carolina House of Representatives amid pushback from auto dealers.
