It was 52 years ago today, on Sept. 18, 1970, that Jimi Hendrix left this world. He was only 27 years old.
There are many who would agree with us that Jimi probably influenced more Rock and Roll people than anyone else. There are those who would disagree, but they would still put him in the top 5.
Thank You Jimi. You opened so many doors to so many things for so many people.
Black Sabbath released their 2nd LP "Paranoid" in the UK on Sept. 18, 1970. It was the band's only LP to top the UK Albums Chart until the release of 13 in 2013. Paranoid contains several of the band's signature songs, including "Iron Man", "War Pigs" and the title track, which was the band's only Top 20 hit, reaching number 4 in the UK charts. It is often regarded as one of the most quintessential and influential albums in heavy metal history.
The album wasn't released in the US until Jan. 7th of 1971. The band's first record was still charting strong in the US so the brains at the record company decided releasing it in Sept. might hurt the success of the first LP. We guess they gave no thought to the fact it would have sold incredibly well for the Holidays in the US.
Also, the band had originally wanted to call the record "War Pigs" but decided against it when the record label suggested it might sound like it was a pro -Vietnam record.

Each member of KISS released their first solo LP simultaneously on Sept. 18, 1978. Each album shipped one million copies & was certified Platinum, but sales failed to match the expected demand. Ace Frehley’s solo album was the most successful.
It’s been 44 years now.

"Allied Forces" is the fifth studio album by TRIUMPH. It was released on September 19, 1981.
