ESPN features a man in Women's History Month special

There were a couple of events that (s)he finished out of the medals.

Personally I suspect sandbagging to try to make his(er) point.
Assuming Thomas wasnt sandbagging, the events "they" finished out of medals were the short distance events. It was the longer distance events where biology took over and gave the women no chance.

A superior female athlete can beat some men, but a superior male athlete can beat all women. Biology matters

These things are beyond moronic now.

Can't define what a woman is
Fights for women rights in the workplace and in school sports
Men identify as women and then win awards from sports to even beauty pageants now.
LGBTQ+ all seem to support men stealing achievements from women in the name of inclusivity which really takes the whole movement back 40 years.

You have to think this is less than 1% of the population that actually cares or supports this, they are justa loud group.

So a man,

Pretending to be a girl,

Wins a national championship swimming g against girls.

Can't make that up.

He is punking the NCAA.

Hell Bruce Jenner has punked the whole country.

Bet he lost a bet.
Even Caitlin Jenner is against all the BS that is happening now.

we sit around arguing this BS, meanwhile we are 32 Trillion in debt and counting.

I wish we had more serious people in this country. The citizens of our nation are profoundly ignorant. That exists in both political spectrums so don't think this is a one-way point. They think our country can't fall and that we can just spend as much as we need to to do all the things that we want to do and that's just not true.

The dollar is the world reserve currency because the United States is the preeminent economic power in the world. But if we continue to spend this way more and more countries are going to become uncertain about us and that could put our reserve currency status in jeopardy. If we were to lose that status our economic situation would go from bad to catastrophic in a millisecond. We would not survive as we exist now if that were to occur. We have to start to take seriously our responsibility as the economic bedrock of the world. We've done everything in our power to circumvent that in the name of political crusades in one direction or another. It has to stop and we all have to understand that our debt situation is going to destroy us if we don't get it together.

Sorry about this being off topic. It just struck a chord with me. I love to see that people are willing to stand up to the madness that is going on in women's sports. I pray that sensibility will eventually went out over this craziness that we have right now. I'm very thankful for people like Riley.

Need the conservative Democrats and moderate republicans to join force.

Let the far right and far left each stand alone.

Don't take their voices away, just agree that their views are just too extreme one way or the other.

Aside from the normal bigotry itt, I agree.

My wife and i got into a fight over this over the weekend.

The USWNT and other international level women's soccer teams routinely lose to boys high school teams. This is just a fact. Men and women are not on the same playing field physically and we just can't let trans people choose to play on one of the gender specific teams.

Now. That doesn't mean that these folks don't deserve a chance to compete and be part of a team. I don't know what the answer is, since we are talking about a tiny proportion of the overall population. But, nonetheless, trans folks shouldn't be on gender specific teams.

I'll file this safely away in the who gives a fvck folder.

bet you'd give a fvck if your daughter was in the locker room when homeboy dropped his drawers and your daughter, nor any other girl in that locker room had any clue that "it" was gonna be sharing that locker room

or hell maybe you wouldn't

I mean, you can’t make this sh*7 up.

The disease obviously takes away all common sense to those afflicted with it.

Any NBA player could win me over as a fan if the year after he retires from the NBA, he shows up at a press conference wearing a wig, panty hose and lipstick - giving off Ric Flair vibes and talking about the $10M contract he has signed with the WNBA.

Two ways this ends.

1) A very expensive class action lawsuit brought against the schools allowing it or against the NCAA

2) The biological women just don't compete in that event any time a person identifying as one shows up.

Don't be fooled at the end of the day certain folks want sports to die period and they will do anything to kill your or my interest in it.
Agree. This needs to be done. Let "it" go out there and swim a couple laps by itself.

Once again proving that it has no agenda and that "trans" doesn't affect anybody, ESPN featured Lia Thomas and the "larger purpose" his "persistence" might have.

Notice they have not made much mention at all that the Nashville Elementary shooter today was a transgender. Not their kind of mentally unstable hero

Plenty of people would find what you say here to be bigoted, too. Of course, “bigoted” is too often used just to mean “I don’t like what you’re saying.”

For me
No need to over think this @GilaMonsta
Eh, I'm all for creating an alternative to them to no other option than competing with men. I have hard stop if that involves allowing them to compete in women's divisions though.

Maybe there needs to be an open division?

Why not just have them continue competing as men? While I don’t think it’s right, I’m also not sure some courts would allow such a special accommodation for “trans” people, since in the past they’ve ruled that letting “trans” people use special single-occupancy bathrooms was sex discrimination.

It's simple.

There is a boys division and there is a girls division.

If a girl (aka fukked up in the mind boy) wants to swim, she has to swim on the boys team if they will have one.

It's the same rule thats been in place for years maybe centuries.

Because really what skin is it off my back if they don't compete in the men's division? It could be an open division of sorts. Doesn't have to be exclusive to only trans people specifically.

That seems like a lot to do when there’s no real demand for it outside of a tiny number of people who are mentally ill, though.

I would be willing to bet a ton of people, both male and female, would be willing to compete in it if they are not able to make it in their own gender-specific division.

I mean if their argument is that they need a place to compete, without being pigeon-hold to be a man. Then great, it isn't gender specific.

And it also really shouldn't matter that much from a competitive/results driven aspect as well (against natural born women), as they've stated it's not really about that.

If they have an issue with either of the above, then it kinda goes against almost everything they've based their arguments on and at that point, screw them.

You should play sports based on the sex you were born with. It’s moronic to believe otherwise. The fringes of society that have been spawned out of extreme political views has done more harm to this country over the last 5 years than the previous 40.

Next will be their pets.

They will start arguing hat their pet was born the wrong sex and want vets to perform the sex changes.

Then want the taxpayers to pay for it.

well what do you consider a person who claims to be a woman but walks into a woman's locker room and drops their drawers and has a cock? And still apparently likes females?

That, to me, is an "it"

Doesn't want to be considered a male but is not a female. Not gonna call it a lesbian or a drag queen...

And yes it is fvcking gross...glad it came across as intended.

What I think they’d say is that if “trans women are women,” then they have to be treated as women. Some want to interpret Title IX to require it, arguing that gender identity discrimination is equivalent to sex duscrimination, even though sex separate policies actually discriminate on the basis of sex in a non—arbitrary way, while sex-based policies that don’t take gender identity into account actually don’t discriminate based on gender identity.

of course you do not know the story...

And you better be glad you are behind a keyboard talking about my daughter.

Maybe you should read the story. Hopefully you don't have a daughter if you think it's OK for a male pretending to be female just strutting into a locker room and checking out the women and pulling out their junk like it is no big deal
Calm down weirdo.

Looking past your clearly incorrect take on the situation with Thomas in the quoted post, do I think the current transgender athletes in sports situation is optimal? No, I do not. However, I do realize that it's such a small subset of the population that I don't see why it's taking up so much of the spotlight, beyond it being a culture war issue that can draws clicks and ratings. Ignoring the fact that M-F college athletes have to take years of hormones until testosterone levels are below a certain threshold, before they can compete in F sports. The genitalia issue in changing rooms is one i sympathize with parents about, and i think it's something that needs to be discussed.

Yeah, and I don't agree with that argument. I draw the line with them pretty firmly there. I'm willing to help you find an alternative all day long. I'm not willing to allow to shove my daughters' rights aside for it though.

As scary as this can sound, I think you have to look at this from a 'majority rule' standpoint.

Women probably make up ~40% of amateur athletes. Probably a little less but not too much since most schools have men's and women's teams in most sports. I'm docking 10% because there isn't a women's equivalent to football, which has a lot of players on a team.

Now, trans athletes are - what - 0.1%?

We cannot risk damaging women's sports for a very small minority, when there is evidence that allowing them in women's sports will damage the sport.

I don't want to make trans athletes into outcasts of society (IMO many of them, especially at the HS and lower levels, are more victim than perpetrator) but we need a different solution.

This is not to say that the trans athletes would automatically win. In Powerlifting (where USA Powerlifting has royally pissed me off with this) there is a girl in Seneca (Clemson Student) who will probably still kick their ass. Of course she can probably out bench press and squat 95% of this board as well.....

And no, she does not look like a Russian Beef Herder.

What true gender is the wife????? Or do you know from day to day? Asking for a friend.

While I completely agree with you. I do think it bares nothing that the USWNT doesn't routinely lose to boys high school teams. They notoriously did lose to a very high level 16u or 15u club team out of Texas one year. There have been other instances, but it's not like it happens every year. And I don't think if you had a scenario where if you put a million dollars on the line, the USWNT would not lose to any but maybe all of the very best and older boys club teams.

But yeah, your point of there just being huge differences in athleticism very much still stands.
