Paul Strelow wrote this on Nolan Hauser's first day of spring practice:
**** Again, what we see from initial spring practices isn't going to be the finished product.
Hitting 32-yard field goals with no fans, defensive rush or amplified pressure is a different story than what Nolan Hauser would encounter in the season opener against UGA.
But the small sample size we viewed only reinforced our longstanding belief Hauser is going to be the placekicker from the get-go.
His kicks were pure -- ideal trajectory, consistent down the middle. Furthermore, there's just a poise and assuredness in his manner.
There will be ups and downs; he's no different than any other young player. And Swinney is going to enable an open competition involving kickoff specialist Robert Gunn.
Oh, we've talked plenty about Hauser -- much more than your usual kicker recruit. Yet here's nonetheless feeling like we aren't going to talk about him enough, either.
