The Bible is the greatest book ever written. It’s timeless, peerless, and powerful. The Bible is the undisputed bestseller of all time (no other book is even close). The Bible has been translated in more languages, distributed to more countries, and changed more lives than any other book. Some say the Bible was just written by men. That’s only partially true. The Bible was penned by holy men of God who were carried along by the Spirit of God as they wrote ( 2 Pet. 1:20-21 ). These men (approximately 40) came from all walks of life, wrote from 3 different continents, over the course of some 1500 years; yet together give a unified message that transcends time and culture. That could only be possible through divine inspiration (2 Tim. 3:16). The Bible contains hundreds of prophecies concerning the rise and fall of nations, the birth, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus etc…,all of which were fulfilled precisely.
In the Bible we are told where we came from: created and designed by God ( not the product of some cosmic accident). We’re also told that we were created for a relationship with our creator. The Bible also tells us what went wrong: sin (rebellion against God).In the Bible we are also told of the divine solution to our problem : “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish , but have everlasting life.” ( John 3:16 ).
The Bible is the words of life. The great subject of the Bible is Jesus Christ (Luke 24:27). The great theme of the Bible is love (Matt. 22:37-40). The great scope of the Bible is for all people for all time; even for eternity (Mark 16:15 ; Matthew 24:35).
I love the Bible. Probably because without the truth of the gospel, a sinner like me would have no hope.
The Bible answers the original question presented in this thread. See 2 Peter 3:9-13; Rev. 21:1-4.
The Bible also says scoffers would come ( 2 Pet. 3:3)
