TI board -- greetings! 2018 grad, long time 'lurker,' and first time poster here. After three years of reading this site forwards and backwards daily, I've decided it's time to get off the bench and start playing ball.
Before the peer pressure gets to me and I inevitably become one of the jaded, cussin', calling-for-Dabo's-resignation-in-the-middle-of-the-second-quarter-then-celebrating-when-we-win-as-if-nothing-happened In Game Thread posters (no hate, it's extremely entertaining) -- I'd like to share some appreciation for this university and this site.
I know this isn't a groundbreaking thought, but it is truly amazing that this 30,000-student university in rural upstate South Carolina not only consistently makes national rankings in academics and student life, but also produces athletic programs of the caliber that it does. Since my freshman year at Clemson in 2014, men's basketball, baseball, and football have steadily risen to the point of being able to compete with quite literally any other school in the nation. When the calendar turned over into 2025, there was legitimate hope for deep postseason runs in all three sports (disappointing end to basketball, for sure) -- that is something I try not to take for granted. It is so fun to be a fan of these teams and these coaches. Clemson is just special, man.
And of course we have the best Clemson coverage, and I'd argue some of the best college sports coverage in general, provided by @Cris_Ard @Paul Strelow and @Larry_Williams. Thank you gentleman for all you do!
I'd also like to shout out @JTJohnston and @crope1 for their baseball posts, knowledge, and coverage this season -- I thoroughly enjoy following along and can't wait to see if this team finally breaks through to Omaha.
Now -- let's land Carter Welling or else we suck again, find out which backup QB is coming for Cade's job this weekend, and for the love of God put JMFC (the greatest baseball player who ever lived) into the lineup this weekend for a California sweep. Am I doing this right?
