This is my take on how Clemson is handling the present state of football recruiting…. It helps if you understand baseball recruiting…. The staff identifies a player who is good enough AND fits Clemson‘s player demographic , and concentrates on them. They write off higher ranked players who are more concerned with NIL, SEC rep, etc , even though they are better players. Similar to baseball, where you don’t waste time on recruits who are definitely going pro. That means the staff is “settling” a lot of times for lower rated players who are more likely to be loyal and stay 3-4 years and develop.,
Time will tell how that works out.
