How many think the NCAA gets involved in boycotts of Georgia? Does SEC move the Championship game from Georgia Dome?

Texas is fixing 2 pass similar legislation..They gonna cut them.out of everything as well

Why don't the Democrats run on their ideas? I think we all know the answer. This is so nutty. ID is required for pretty much everything we do, and all of a sudden this is the issue they are going to take a stand on? Man...this country is taking crazy pills. Of course, the Democrats play chess while Republicans play with their fidget spinners. This is all about intimidating other states that may be thinking of tightening up their voting laws. Time for some folks to grow a set and stand up to this.

This whole boycotting thing..... I say let it happen. Leave. Run away to your non republican states and pay high taxes and adhere to over reaching laws, unions, legislation, and socialistic policy.

Let them go. I don't care anymore. I'm willing to give up some things in the name of freedom and an fair elections. And it isn't just about being fair. It's about instilling confidence in the voting system by the public. There are a lot of people out there who are still baffled by what happened this last year. Right, wrong, whatever. They don't trust it and that's a problem.

You can't drive, buy alcohol/cigarettes, get social security/Medicaid, unemployment, have a bank account, buy a house, rent an apartment, fly, get married, rent a hotel room, buy a cell phone plan, go to a casino, pick up prescriptions, hold a protest permit, buy cold medicine, rent or buy R/M rated movies/games, etc......

You can't even register your kid for public school without a Legal Guardian having a photo ID.

IDs are used for EVERYTHING.

On top of that, every state that is introducing these voter id laws has said that anyone who needs an ID will be given one for FREE and there is plenty of time to get it between now and future elections.

SEC gonna pull HQ out of Birmingham AL when AL passes something like it? I don't think so.

I agree completely with this. Boycott, do what you need to do. I don’t need anything ncaa in my life and individual freedoms are much more important.

The absurdity of the left and their power hungry, controlling, fascist ideology has to be defeated.

i am past caring about pro sports and now college for failing to play sports

I am just one more protest or taking a knee from taking the position shut down all college sports and end scholarships and make colleges only academic facilities

the elected government of Georgia and Texas are Making laws based on election results

this bullying from the liberals has to stop

Yep. Same here. I struggled with whether or not to cut the cord because of all the sports I will miss. I did it after the election and have not missed it for one second. I'm not perfect, I have an antenna, Netflix, HBO Max (woke TV) and Disney+ for the kids. It's a start though, and it feels good to know I'm not directly funding the bullsh*t news networks.

I mean it would definitely suck but I'm sorry... liberty, freedom, and accountable elections are more important to me than sports and even Clemson sports.

Let’s face it...the ONLY reason democrats would be against providing IDs to vote is bc they plan to cheat...plain & simple...

And it’s about time for some of these states & businesses to tell these liberal assholes to go kick rocks...or better yet, eat shit...stop bowing down...

Bingo. It's about power like always. Democrat leaders don't give a damn about your rights or freedoms. They use their voters as pawns to gain power and control. They will go after any state that doesn't have the same ideology as them. It's the communist party power play

A majority of the companies that are boycotting the bill have MAJOR exposure to China. A country that doesn't have elections and commits genocide on its own people. The hypocrisy is truly amazing

I'd say the NCAA needs all the allies they can get in Congress these days. I doubt they take a stand on it.

Besides, when you actually read the Ga law, its not all that controversial. Biden has gotten it so wrong that even the Washington Post has had to call him a liar in their fact check. The not so conservative CNN basically refuted all the claims too. https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/31/poli...oting-bill-law-elections-explained/index.html

This is a bit off topic, but everytime I see that stupid disclaimer on Disney+ about how offensive Fantasia or some other cartoon may be, I want to throw my tv out the window.i really haven't opened that app much since they started doing that.

NCAA better be careful. I would say most southern states will pass similar laws. NCAA tries something the SEC may say screw you we are out. NCAA loses southern schools for football and they are dead.

If 2020 didn't show the NCAA where their bread was buttered, nothing will. If the schools from mainly southern states hadn't stood up for football, the NCAA would have likely not had any sports this year.

Amen. If you can’t prove your identity then honestly, you shouldn’t have the right to vote. It’s not hard. As you said with the many examples, everyone has an ID. If not, get one if you want to vote. Hell, everything has standard operating procedures and having an ID to vote has always been one until recently. This country was built on laws and rules. Time to get back to them.

Same bullshit at the border. I don’t care if you come but come through the LEGAL CHANNELS. I have to have a passport to leave and return to the country to prove my identity so if you want to become a US citizen, do it the right way!

Insanity has embedded itself in this country with the playing card being, “That’s racist”, knowing that white America will curl up in the fetal position and is scared to death to oppose radical, illegal policies. Libs know how to silence the gutless.

Saw an article yesterday that Georgia’s new law isn’t even as “restrictive” as 20+ other states.

NCAA gonna leave those states as well? As someone said, Texas is next to pass some new laws. Several other states too

Delta and American gonna move their hubs?

When you read the GA law it expands mail in voting and preserves Sunday voting. It eliminates the signature matching. It adds drop boxes to the pre-Covid level (But less than Covid). All things that help disadvantaged communities.
The no food and water within 150 feet is a head scratcher. They are worried about ads on cups?
Probably the thing that bothers the most people is taking election power from local officials and relegating it to State officials.
So the bill isn’t all it is being hyped up (down) to be.

To register to vote, a form of identification is already required. It could be a drivers license, or a social security card, utility bill, etc.

To specifically require a state issued ID to vote would also require states to make it easier to obtain. Both cost wise and the vital documents required to keep it updated.

Our country is made up of people who are not as smart and/or poor. They too have the right to vote. Just so happens that the way they would vote is likely to be for an interest or candidate that would protect them.

What REALLY gets me is the Dems and media ignoring how rascist it is to say that minorities don’t have or can’t get ID!
And why the hell isn’t every elected ‘Pub going on every media outlet that will have them and pointing this out?

Would you consider obtaining a state ID a difficult thing to do presently?

I've seen a recent graphic showing the trend of house seats (tied to population) gained or lost in states over the past several years. Guess which states are losing house seats (decreasing population) and which are gaining seats (increasing population). It isn't hard to figure out.

Losing seats - NY, Penn, Illinois, Michigan, NJ, Mass
Gaining seats - Texas, Florida, Arizona, California (the one anomaly, although I bet it starts trending down)

I have voted in three states in my life, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Every time, an ID was needed to vote. My question is how do you vote without one? Seems like a common sense thing to me to want to verify the person on the list to make sure one is who they say they are. This whole thing is so ridiculous.

While it is great that the south and west are gaining seats, it does us no good if the transplants continue to vote for the policies that drove them out of those states in the first place. Plus it just drives our prices higher and makes everything more crowded.

Meh, the ones that move usually vote the same way as before.

Dems don’t care about those 20+ states bc they are probably firmly in Republican control (I haven’t seen the list so not 100% on that) but they now see Georgia as a winnable state going forward...one they can cheat in as well.that’s why they’re fighting it so hard...
Texas will be their next target...

Because absentee ballots were able to be requested and counted as votes without verification. A lot of them actually.

All these states are wanting to do is make sure that every mail in ballot or absentee ballot given out is going to who it is supposed to go to. That's pretty much it in a nutshell. They will need to show some form of ID in order to be granted a mail in ballot the same as someone who shows up to a voting precinct and is required to show ID which I have been required to do for ages as does every state.

In states like California and other states this past election, they absolutely DO ask for a photo ID to vote. If you don't have one you can simply give your name and last 4 of your social. So you could have one person get the last 4 of several friend/family members and request and fill out multiple ballots that would all be counted. It is illegal to cast a vote for someone else even if they consent to you doing so but since photo id wasn't required to request the ballots, there is no way to prove it.

This isn’t even true. I set all my stuff up over the phone.

Icy...have you really sat back & listened to some of the arguments your “woke” brethren have made the last couple of years??
You’re in no position to lecture anyone about “stupid” arguments...
