Conspiracy? No. That would indicate that either there is no virus, or that the virus was engineered by the US government. I don't consider the idea that the Chinese developed it to be a "conspiracy" with regards to this, because we all know there's about a 50/50 chance that they did.
But I do think the data is unreliable right now. I don't know that we know what is going on anywhere close to what we think.

I think you need to be more imaginative in terms of a conspiracy. The conspiracy in this case would be that there is a vaccine for the virus being used on some in secret .

As of yesterday I know 29 people who have tested positive for Covid anti-bodies - private testing done through their company(s). NYC, Chicago, LA, Denver, Dallas, Montreal, Toronto, and Salt Lake residents bit with regular domestic/int’l business travel. Only 2 of them said they ever had “flu like” symptoms over Christmas and first week in January respectively. 7 tested positive for active virus. Definitely not a hoax but it’s widely suspected this virus, or previous mutations, has been around since fall 2019, and already VERY widespread with 90%+ asymptomatic. Or even perhaps earlier - 2017/18 flu season was a really bad one at 82k American fatalities. Makes you wonder.

When I first saw this I thought this guy sounded like the people on my Facebook page in either direction. Just talking about nothing. Repeating facts from credible sources that those credible sources didn't realize they actually said. All fake. Guy literally said they were vaccinated.

Some leaked video confirms what you thought. You love it and share. On the other hand you see a video like this but it disputes what you believe. You shake your head. Claim it's probably fake and move on. Point is no one is listening or trying to change their stance. If the information goes against what they believe they just call it fake. Weird place to be as a nation but that's where we are in my opinion.
There are some doozy Conspiracies out there....... My wife has a friend that is a rampant believer in all Documentaries Posted......if it is filmed it must be true. I think even my wife was amazed at how crazy some of the theories she threw at us were. My response to it all was that people aren't that smart...... and eventually someone squeals.
Sad place to be, that's for sure. Everyone always claiming fake news or biased reporting to any information that doesn't agree with their line of thinking. Both sides of the aisle. This virus I believe has brought a lot of families together but as a nation it's created another topic to disagree and argue about.

I think the people with little to no symptoms are people that likely have had a mix of COV 1-18 during their lives and already have a partial immunity by having conquered something similar. The ones that get floored had no defense at all and got a nasty one as their first COV. This applies to the younger people having problems, not the elderly with other issues.
I always heard kids that didn’t go to daycare as babies got sick more often when they went to school due to lack of germ exposure their first five years, same with home school kids that don’t get out enough.
I don't think it was/is a hoax, but I think a lot of very bad decisions were made trying to compare the whole country with what was happening in NY. We could have practiced social distancing and worn masks without shutting down the economy. The real mistake was not totally isolating the folks in long term care facilities. I live in Hendersonville, NC with a huge retirement population. We have had 129 cases and 13 deaths. Almost all of those cases a from nursing homes and assisted living facilities, most are from 2 facilities.
You can believe what you want to believe. I actually don't care in regards to this particular post. If you read my post it addressed no matter what you believe, if the video contradicted what you believe, most would do as I suggested they would. Agree or disagree.
Just to be clear, this is not the 19th strain of coronavirus. I thought the same thing until a few weeks ago.
It's called "covid-19" because it was first classified in 2019.
There are likely different strains of this coronavirus circulating even now. As @steele-tiger pointed out, there is some evidence emerging that the east-coast strain may be much deadlier than the west-coast strain. Hence the disparity between NY and CA deaths.
The silver lining is they did not report their banter as fact. I was speaking of the nimrod expressing a false study and not the hot mic. C SPAN has an open mic before every press conference, hearing and etc.,
