My idea is to take the refs off the field. Let them watch the games on a screen like the rest of us. I'd give them better camera views, but that would be a benefit to fans as well, so it's a win win.
The average fan can call the game better just watching on regular TV, most of the fouls are obvious.
Something has to be done about this. Sports have done a great job of integrating technology to help the athletes, but they haven't done a damn thing to help the refs. Oddly enough tennis takes the gold for that, the human element has been taken out of the game altogether at the highest level. So much better knowing the person who won actually won.
