I am not saying this is Trump fraud, waste and abuse in action…

Agree it’s not fraud. But I’d guess Goob was using the same standard we’ve seen elsewhere on the definition of fraud. As I keep seeing people yell fraud when they really mean wasteful or a misuse of funds.
So why would anyone suggest fraud if indeed they don't think it is fraud. When a politician votes for / supports a program that has funds that some of which are redirected back to said politician in the form of cash, then I would suggest that to be fraud.

Have you used that same energy/question on DOGE?

And do you have examples of the second sentence? I tend to agree.

DrTigerGoob, I am not a lawyer but a casual look at the dictionary says that fraud is "deceit, trickery, sharp practice or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage." Sounds like it pretty much defines the Trump administration.
Might want to change the Biden in there to Trump

This stock market sell off is just getting started unless the Trump administration changes course. Reduction in govt spending will hit earnings and GDP without a liquidity pump

Magas should go all in. Great buying opportunity for them to show they have faith in the Orange Don. Maybe buy a Trump bible, sneakers and Melania meme also. Follow the Trump University route

If the market crashes, Trump will blame Biden

Alaska probably has the highest % of govt employees. Thier Republican senators would now like to back off the musk train

I clearly said I consider it waste and not fraud.

If there was fraud committed by Biden, we will know…one day…maybe. But I doubt it.

Thought you guys were keynesians? That money will go into employee pockets at media outlets, sign makers, paint producers, whoever makes billboards, websites etc…you guys call that stimulating the economy…but only when one team does it because you’re stupid but that’s a whole other can of worms.

Besides…he’ll take it outta the ukraine budget. Using it as toilet paper is a better use than that. Also…might wanna save some of these tears…you’re gonna need em for whats coming

Ooooowwww…so scary.

This right here is another reason why I would’ve never voted for Trump and just further solidifies that Trump is a tool who has never had to work, truly work, for anything in his life.

Where I agree that the federal Government is way to big and that there is a ton of waste being exposed, not every federal worker is a bump on a log. Also, many of those federal workers who are worried right now, voted for him soooooooo to post a meme painting with such a wide brush just shows how out of touch this sentient carrot is.

Sure some will say “All you have to do is type 5 things you did last week” like that’s it and there is nothing to worry about BUT I ask you, if I .., who has no idea how important your jobs are or has any appreciation for what you do, yet your employment was contingent on me understanding what you did, how confident would you be summarizing your week to me?

I’ve laid people off and I have been laid off, and anyone who enjoys it … like it seems Musk does … and makes jokes about it … like Trump did … are f’n assholes to the highest degree.

Nailed it. Coming out today and threatening employees again after the administration told people they didn’t have to.

I mean what a complete and utter shitshow.

I hope so, also! There is no room in governance for people who commit fraud in their jobs no matter which party they are affiliated with.

I am actually following the DOGE actions as closely as I can find good data on. Doesn't mean I have all the facts but I do give it a good hard look as often as I can.
My second sentence is a statement of my opinion about what would be fraud in governance. I didn't suggest any one example for review.

I am just getting tired of the constant implications and use of the word "fraud" when very little of what has been shown has actually been fraud.

Basically, I hate politics lol

They all spend massive amounts of taxpayer money to say "I'm awesome" while also claiming to be trying to save the taxpayer money?
I basically agree with your statement. They also violate the Constitution when they allow the Deep State to interpret and define what the law means and then actually make some changes.

Good post.

I agree with most of this, with the following exceptions:

As a general rule, the "best & brightest" don't typically go to work for the Federal Government. I won't bore you with the extensive list of agencies, both state & federal that I've worked with over the years, but that's my observation. On more than one occasion, I've even had California State regulators make comments about the work ethic of the federal staff they have to engage with. I just sat there and nodded. Pissing contests between State & Feds over who has authority were particularly amusing to me.

With regard to the "Type 5 things" comment...I know that's probably uncomfortable for some; however, if you know your job well but can't quickly summarize what you do and how that integrates with the mission of your Corporation/Agency/NGO to spit out 5 meaningful things you did last week, then it suggests to me you're not very competent. Maybe these federal workers have never had the "Whiz Kids" from McKenzie Group or Bain (zero idea about how important specific roles were) come in at the behest of executive management and do this very thing. PLENTY of us in Corporate America have seen this happen and had to do this exact exercise...later to see the jobs combined/eliminated.

Also, I've seen first-hand how performance management, or the lack thereof, occurs at government agencies.

I'm curious about dis-rail as well. Is this like "Duel-Threat Quarterback" or "Could care less"? ;)

As I said in a different Thread, I have been involved intimately with a Corporate Cost Reduction from both sides.

In my experience the more effective way to handle it is to tell each department manager that they need to provide me with suggestions 10% (or whatever) cut to their expenses. I need it this by this date, and I want to know the plan to cover these cuts so that our customer isn't impacted.

Sometimes it is a staff reduction, conbiny roles, new processes to be more efficient etc. sometimes one department can only get to 8% reduction without impacting our customer/client, in which case we see which other departments have been able to identify enough reduction to make up the gap.

I have never just gone in with a chainsaw and fired staff, eliminated promised programs, etc without getting any insight into the impact of those roles and cuts.
