I had an assistant principal tell me today.....

Name me another high profile public figure who went away and came back literally looking like a completely different person and still carnival barking his way to pulling money out of peoples pocket?
Michael Jackson but he transitioned before us.

Um no, not all new. This is a virus, among an extremely thoroughly studied group of viruses- corona viruses. To say we know nothing is number one like saying we know nothing about sending a manned mission to Mars when we’ve sent people to the moon. Secondly there is tons of data analysis and doctors analysis out there disputing almost everything the media is putting out there. Read this -https://coronavirustruths.godaddysites.com/

Excellent read. Thank you for sharing

nothing will be different in august than it is right now. In fact in august there will be a greater chance of virus surge due to cooler climates.

we still won’t have a vaccine, so if protecting kids is why we aren’t in school now, nothing will be different in august.

only hope is we find out that we made awful decisions based on even worse intel. Other wise school might go back august 2021. It’s possible not til January 2022.

You must not live in SC in August to think that.

It is madness until someone you love dies from it.
Someone i love can die anyday from cancer, car wrecks etc. Im 52 and would have ZERO prob rubbing elbows with 80k in Death Valley tomorrow vs living in my house in fear. F that. The good of the many outweigh that of the few.

People are gonna die. We have to accept that. We can be practical and wear masks, wash hands, etc but life must go on. How long can service industries stay closed?? They are on the brink after just a month.

Imagine owning a biz with fixed costs, yet being forced to have ZERO revenue. Not only are you not making money, but its costing you money. The devastation to millions is unimaginable.

If the economy stays closed much longer, the virus won't matter in the least as poverty related attributes will kill more people than the virus will. I'm willing to take my chances and open it back up. I'm still confident a ton of people have had this thing, myself included.

I know that may not be popular opinion and I know many have elders or even at risk loved ones you're worried about (as do I) but I also have to think about my children and what happens in the worst case scenario.

At some point, the government won't be able to dump stimulus money into the economy and the short fall/deficit on income tax from unemployment and corporations going bust will further the gap between cost and revenue. Tax revenue subsidizes critical things like farming (USDA) and once the money dries up, farms shut down, food shortages become real.......etc and we have a much more challenging problem on our hands.

Most small, private companies sub $150m in annual revenue.....on average, don't have 3 months of surplus savings to fund overhead and payroll. So realistically, we are less than 3 months away of the cuts extending into white collar roles.

There is also a looming corporate sector debt crisis that either surfaces before it all melts down or potentially during. For reference, corporate debt sits in the $74trn arena. No amount of stimulus money can solve that.

Long story short, the risk of economic meltdown is way higher than virus risk (in my own personal opinion)

Fall schools are going to be interesting.

The kids absolutely need the socialization and teaching from real teachers.

But... so many Moms are totally against it that it will interesting how the state Superintendent will handle it.

Some schools have 1000's kids.

My guess if there are a very limited new cases per day and we have widespread testing then we go back in the fall. But testing has a LONG way to go in SC and I don't think our state leadership has a clue..

That their personal opinion is that school will not go back this fall. Hopefully they are completely wrong but we all know that everything has a domino effect and once you see schools announce that, everybody does. This was an assistant principal in South Carolina.

Hopefully people get real and stop this ridiculous madness.

I don’t have high hopes for college sports at all until 2021.
So he’s a democrat?

Well said my friend. Imagine that business is the government where the fixed costs are in the billions and there is no revenue coming in........life gets real hard once the Govt shuts down.

would they say the same if they werent going to get paid the same? in person vs remote is a different service and should come at a lower cost to taxpayers. I'm pro teacher....but really, we need to get back to life.

I think it is a given at this point that terrible decisions were made based on terrible data. But once you give the scared masses a reason to hide in their homes, good luck prying them out again.

Hey, Britt Hume. Isn’t he on that network with Sean “it is a Hoax” Hannity? And Laura “hydroxychloroquine is a ‘game changer’ Ingraham? And that drunken judge?

Isn’t that the network that invites Dr. Oz and other celebrity docs on the show when they are seeking ‘expert’ advice on infectious diseases?

Yeah ... that’s what I thought. Nuf sed.

So I guess you never get any new from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, etc. Every one of those networks have similar problems.

Dr Oz is better than Sean Penn as an “expert.”

Or wait.... CNN’s Chris Cuomo emerges from his quarantine on tv, only he forgot about the dust up he had with his neighbor in the yard on Easter. Yeah, CNN is much better than Fox.

Governor McMaster had a plan to open, and was intent on doing so. There are many chapters to be written over the next 4 months.

Dr.Oz is nothing but a snake oil salesman. Dr. Phil is a clown as well.
I see you didnt comment on my comparison with Sen Penn whom CNN has on an "expert" frequently.

Please move back to California. Why on Earth did your child have to go to Clemson. You are insufferable.

Calm down

Well Brit Hume said last night this could be the worst public policy calamity ever and these doctors agree with him. It all depends on how long it takes for the truth to get out but the media is dead set on continuing to keep the public in the dark as much as possible. I arrived at most of these conclusions with a search engine and a calculator over a month ago just by analyzing the numbers. I knew this was a crock of crap and I’m no genius but I do data analysis of sorts everyday. https://coronavirustruths.godaddysites.com/
These are the worst, opposite takes.

There will be from what we have been told in York county
If school is in session (& it will be) then sports will be played...can’t justify having kiddos packed in schools all day then tell them extracurricular stuff is out...that doesn’t make sense...

I never watch CNN and I don't have any faith in Sean Penn who has about as much credibility as Scott Baio

About the fall? That’s good. Like I said, that is one person’s opinion so you can’t take anything to the bank at this point. Unfortunately I agree with this person‘s opinion. I don’t see it happening. I don’t think parents will let a lot of their kids. Stay at home moms watch talk shows all day long and get sucked into anything regarding news.

cooler climates in August than April...what the hell. Covid has people losing their minds

Is CNN asking Sean Penn about CV? I haven’t seen him in that role but if so, you would be correct. He is not an expert on infectious diseases.

Frankly, just let Dr. Fauci handle all of the interviews. He’s the nation’s most credible expert. And he won’t advocate for some untried and untrue medications or “cleansing” as the person with the nation’s largest megaphone does.
