Reading responses from the the “everyone stay at home until there’s a vaccine” crowd really makes me wonder why you would continue to spend time on a college football fan site? If you truly think it’s not safe for the players, coaches, referees, ticket takers to play this fall then why aren’t you on a virtual bridge club site or some kind of game dedicated to safe distancing?

Don’t get me wrong. It’s perfectly fine to say you’re not going to a game in person this year due to your age or pre-existing conditions you may have. I totally respect that choice. But if you’re insisting it’s not safe for players playing this fall and against even smaller crowds being there at games shouldn’t you be a “fan” of some other activity?

Why would you be here on this site if you’re anti football?

I can’t imagine with a brain who actually thinks we should have no sports until there’s a vaccine.

I, for one, don’t personally believe we should hold off on most sports until a vaccine.
But I do think the decision makers will more than likely do that to us.

Maybe golf and maybe tennis (and similar) but the other sports I believe will continue to be shelved until vaccine, OR much better test/treatment options are in place.

So hope I am wrong. But you can see it trending that way. We will be very lucky to have some sports without fans that aren’t quite as close contact- baseball, soccer

So let me get this straight OP if we think the rona is dangerous and more than some pissy little flu y’all been touting from the beginning then I am anti football? Is that abt right? I guess I’m just speechless.

Dayum @Cris_Ard he trying to run off your subscribers?

Hahaha...good lord, OP. I'll make it very simple for you to understand. These 2 things are completely true: I want college football with fans this year. I will not be attending any college games this fall because I believe it's too risky.

I completely respect that you don’t want to go. Read my post again.

It’s the “nobody can play and nobody can go watch” crowd I don’t understand.

I completely respect that you don’t think it’s safe for you or your family. But if experts are working on a plan to play this fall, Dabo and the players want to play, and many younger healthy fans
Want to be there, why would you oppose it and why continue to follow it?

I don’t oppose them playing football this fall if they can do it safely. I think some of y’all cherry pick numbers that agree with your stance and throw others out that don’t. If 80,000 want to cram in DV this fall more power to you. But doing that more people are going to get sick and more people are going to die. How many is the key question. Still too many unknowns abt the rona to know for sure.
And trust me I’m on a very limited income right now so I’ve thought abt the 100 bucks I spend here a year but it’s something I’ve enjoyed for a long time and eventually we will be back to a new normal.

The United States cannot afford, mentally or fiscally, to stay under this 'rock' until it's "All clear!!!"
It will NEVER be 'all clear'.
Life has it's challenges. Death and disease are some of them.

Some people act like Covid kills on sight/contact like some giant laser/evaporator.
It's nasty, if you get it.
Usually.
Sometimes you hardly know you have it.
It's genetics people.
You can't protect everyone from life. Some are more prone and need to take responsible action.

It's a virus. It AIN'T going away. They don't go away. They mutate.

How many viruses have there EVER been a cure for? Very, very few, if any - truth be known.
Immunization can work with SOME viruses.....if they don't mutate.

Herd immunity is the best help. Immunizations/vaccines MIGHT help.
For some = nothing will help.
Fact of life.
So the entire population deploys 'underground' because some will 'get it'?

All these people living under that rock until we have a 'vaccine'............how's that vaccine doing with Influenza........are in for a rude awakening.

There may not be anything to come out from under your rock to see or do, if some get their way.

And if a vaccine doesn't come? You can't shelve sports for long.

I think football will happen in September but I also believe that likely no fans will be in attendance. If some are allowed then it will be students, band and players families.

You aren't getting 80k people this fall.

It may not be 80K. I’m hoping for at least 40K and TV.

Let’s hope other countries and sports go first and prove it can be safe. That will help.

They're going to try to hold the universe hostage until there is a cure for COVID-19. Because they are righteous. To not want to do what they want, how they want, isn't just dumb, but evil in their home cooked religion.

Considering how we're coming along with curing its COVID cousin the common cold, I smell juvenile gullibility and a perverse agenda. It's about what they can make OTHERS do. Never about what they are going to just quiet down, stay busy, and just contribute.

They are on here squeeing, not for love of sport, but to show you unwashed what righteousness looks like, and what happens to those who don't get in line.

Here's what I know. The OP, 99.9% of posters on this board, and I don't know shit about this virus and how things are going to play out for the football season hopefully this fall. I want football to be played! I want to see TL and ETN play one last season for Clemson. I think we all do. But we don't know what's going to happen, and we will have no say in the decisions that are going to be made by the NCAA, the president's of the universities, the governors of the states, etc.

So the OP is just trying to pick a fight with those who are more cautious and unsure of how this virus will effect the players, coaches, staff, students, and fans if the games do indeed proceed this fall. I guess the people who are unsure, cautious, and concerned about the virus aren't real football fans and should leave this board and do something else? SMFH.

You have every right to be cautious. No one is making you come to a game.

We have experts working on a plan to re open school in the fall. I’m sending a freshmen to Clemson in the fall. Covid - 19 doesn’t even make a top 10 of my safety worries for her. Experts are working on a plan for players to play safely again.

Let it play out. No need to keep screaming shut it down on this board when it comes to football.

Solution: no fans allowed until in the stadium until after halftime.

We usually only have around 50K after the half anyway unless they're filming a Disney movie since we are up by 30 on everyone.

I'm here adulting. Someone has to supervise. ;)

Silence everyone period. Either there will be football or not. Either there will be fans or not. No use bickering like a bunch of dumb drunk chicks over what should happen. You aren't going to convince either side to change their mind so shut the fvck up.

Simmer down. You aren’t required to read the threads.

The number of Americans who think everyone should stay at home until there is a vaccine is vanishingly small. I think the vast majority of sports fans want to watch some sports and get some escape and hope that we can figure out how to do it in a responsible way. I'm pretty sure that will at least start out with significantly reduced attendance at games. Since you're apparently our gatekeeper, do I need to cancel my TI subscription due to that opinion?

Why are you on this board if you think everyone with a different opinion is an idiot. Why not just read football articles and pass on the West Zone.

Not a good look.

I'm good bro. You aren't required to be such a douche in this thread. These threads don't determine my life. Obviously you are trying to make some sort of statement that doesn't matter at all to people that make these decisions. So let it go.

And yet you can’t atop talking about the damn virus. It’s been non stop from you since this started. Nonstop! I bet you have posted well over 100x about the virus. And started at least 20 or more threads alone virus related.

Go spend some time with that soon to be freshman at Clemson. God knows you seem to have plenty on your hands.

Trust me I'm not saying shut it down. I am not involved in those decisions, and I hope the ones that are will do a very thorough job in addressing all the issues and potential issues. I would hate for the season to start and then come to an abrupt half because a player or players test positive for the virus.

At this point I don't think we know that people going to DV to see a football game will accelerate cases and deaths. That is just assumed because the doomsayers are predicting. As you say there are a lot of unknowns, and we can't quit living life because of it. By all means stay at home if you aren't comfortable going. I might decide to stay home too. There is a lot of time between now and Sept Lets wait and see what happens between now and then .

Just curious if anybody has seen the photo of the GaT football game in 1918 during the Spanish Flu. All the fans are wearing masks. You can find it on dailysnark.com It doesn't appear that fans are social distancing.
