I want to start this topic, so we can see how the Trump tariffs affect food prices. So, every Friday, I will share the below table and everyone can see what impact, if any, the Trump tariffs are having on food prices.

You will notice that eggs took a significant price increase. This is because of the avian flu outbreak in U.S. chicken populations.

So, let's see how things go.

Canada and Mexico bent the knee.
Maybe they did but we haven't improved our standing in the world, I can tell you that. You probably don't see it but Canadian citizens are enraged about this manipulation and are foaming at the mouth on social media. Actually people from around the world are enraged about this and the threats to Greenland and Panama with hundreds of posts from citizens in other countries that say Australia hates FOTUS, Wales hates FOTUS etc...I'm almost afraid to travel abroad now, lol

Canada says they will proceed with the plan they came up with in 2024.

Trump 101 - bluster online, other country proceeds with doing what they planned to do, call it a win on social media.

It’s like clockwork

Only the 1.3billion and 10000 people on the border were part of the 2024 plan and that was partially put in place because of the anticipation of tariffs. The clockwork is memory holed peons, like you, who ingest headlines and never do their own research. Sheep gunna sheep

Canada Unveils $1.3 Billion Border Security Plan as Trump Threatens Tariffs

ByAnnik SobingDecember 26, 2024
In a strategic response to President-elect Donald Trump’s looming tariff threats, Canada has announced a significant $1.3 billion border security plan. This initiative aims to enhance security measures at the U.S.-Canada border amid concerns about irregular migration and drug trafficking, particularly fentanyl.

Key Components of the Border Security Plan

The Canadian government’s approach involves a five-pillar strategy designed to address various aspects of border security:

  1. Enhanced Surveillance: The plan includes 24/7 aerial surveillance using helicopters and drones to monitor border activities.
  2. Law Enforcement Support: Increased funding will be allocated to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to bolster their operational capabilities.
  3. Technology Upgrades: The use of advanced AI and imaging technology will improve the detection of illegal drugs and enhance overall border inspections.
  4. Information Sharing: The initiative emphasizes better coordination and information sharing among law enforcement agencies.
  5. Community Engagement: Efforts will be made to involve local communities in border security strategies.

lol. When people say “they do their own research” I automatically tune them out. You don’t do any research, you scroll google looking for articles confirming your preconceived opinion.

It’s all performative to stroke his ego. Canada and Mexico do shit like this all the time. He gets some dumb symbolic agreement from leaders who don’t want to crash the world economy, cancels the tariffs and takes credit for being a big tough guy. Media/dullards eat it up and gives him credit.

Rinse and repeat every few weeks for the next 4 years.

You’re not thinking for yourselves. You’re regurgitating talking points you heard from someone whose opinion you agree with. Miss me with the “I study every point of view and just so happen to agree with everything I hear Elon and Rogan say.”

It reminds me of all the dipshits who said they “did their own research” during COVID when none of them have the knowledge or experience of reading and interpreting medical studies.

I thought to myself, is this actually true? I then proceeded to do actual research and proved that your premise is factually inaccurate. You're a fvcking retard. Have a great night.

It’s quite literally a fact. It’s the plan they came up with in 2024. Point out the lie? They already planned on going forward with it.

Sorry you got played like a fiddle, bud

What Was Not Included or Specifically Agreed Upon with Trump:

  • Reduction of Trade Deficit: There was no mention in the plan of directly addressing the trade deficit with the U.S., which Trump had highlighted as a concern.
  • U.S. Banks Entry: The plan did not include provisions for allowing U.S. banks to operate in Canada, another of Trump's demands.
  • Canada Becoming the 51st State: This was more of a rhetorical or jesting suggestion by Trump and was not part of any formal agreement or Canadian policy.
  • Specific Commitments on Migrant Numbers: While the plan aimed at reducing irregular migration, there were no specific agreements on numbers or direct commitments to Trump's demands for controlling migrant flows to the extent he might have desired.
  • Direct Financial Penalties or Tariffs: The plan was more about security measures rather than economic policy adjustments like tariffs, which Trump threatened to impose unless border security was improved.

In summary, Canada's border plan was heavily focused on security enhancements and cooperation with U.S. authorities on crime and drug trafficking rather than directly addressing all of Trump's economic or political demands. The plan was a response to Trump's threats of tariffs but did not comprehensively cover all aspects of what Trump publicly sought from Canada.

Let's not forget two major things: labeling drug cartels as terrorist and establishing a fentanyl czar.

Sure thing, bud.

I haven't dug into it but Kaitlin Collins agrees this was previously negotiated, sans the fentanyl czar

Where were you when inflation was the highest in 50 years under the Biden admin?

You realize inflation got to 9% yoy under the Biden admin, right?

Thank god democrats are finally paying attention to inflation. Now, hopefully they will learn what causes inflation (hint: their policies) . So good to see them finally waking up.

Democrats are the party of inflation. They claimed inflation was transitory. And it was supposed to be. But their policies caused inflation to run rampant. They even wanted to pass a massively inflationary bill in Build Back Better but were only thwarted by republicans and a lone democrat in Joe Manchin.

The Democratic brand owns inflation.

So are you saying your original post was bs or just that all the social media stuff you were referring to about people being enraged at trump about forcing it were just uninformed libs from other countries?
Wut? I'm saying that there's a lot of outrage worldwide about the way Trump is threatening other countries with tariffs and taking their land to incorporate it into America against their will. Not sure why that would only be libs because conservatives don't approve of him threatening their countries either, as evidenced by the far-right in Canada. All parties are angry at his bullying.

I’m guessing you’ve missed (or ignored) the part where they’re all caving.

Those countries doing their part is long overdue. Having a president who isn’t trying to personally financially gain from other countries is so refreshing.

That totally misses my point - move along.

How dare he bully other countries to stop the flow of fentanyl and killing our citizens. What a bully!
