Is jk rowling more courageous than evangelical leaders?

The Scottish people have lodged 3800 complaints on the first day of the law.

None of which they will prosecute because of JK’s huge balls.

They are mocking the leaders and it’s hilarious. Just daring them to do something and they won’t.

It good for the rule of law. Buckle up

there was always a 0% chance she was going to jail. same as trump.
They passed a law to prevent her from saying that with penalties including jail time.

If it was a commoner that had said it they probably would have arrested her.

But JK with her status, is daring them to arrest her. And they won't because they know its fvcking utterly ridiculous. Bunch of trannies don't rule the world.

You should be bemoaning the fact a wealthy person is above the law, or is getting preferential treatment, compared to commoners. However, since you’re so engulfed with culture war nonsense you are cheering the one thing you, if you had any semblance of actual standards in your outrage, you’d be complaining about this despite supporting her position.

You’re not a serious person with actual principles; you’re a culture war addict.

so you agree there was no chance they would arrest/charge her. meaning very low risk. but she's now a hero of the conservative bigot, her target audience as it turns out.

No there was a very high risk, otherwise they never would have passed the law in the first place ya bozo.

She shot their little stunt down on the first day and rendered the law useless in the first 24 hours it was passed 😂😂😂

Just pummeling the mayor daring him to arrest her. But he can’t even enforce his own bullshit. She has more power than an elected official.

Great article on JK.

There have been over 10,000 reports of hate speech on the first week of the law. The Scottish people are revolting and it’s glorious. JK should run for President or whatever position that may be. Although she is already more powerful than that person now, so may be unnecessary.

This coming from the guy who cheers like a prepubescent school girl every time Trump gets charged.

Why wouldn't I cheer when someone gets charged for doing something illegal...especially someone who's super wealthy? I don't think you understood my post.

You don't need to be President or hold office to hold power. JK Rowling wields the stick and made the wokies cry.

Now, they are going to vote on whether to repeal the law they just passed because it is so politically unpopular and a total cluster****. 8000 reports of hate speech in the first week. They were overwhlemed with false? reports and it's hilarious.

It's like she is talking directly to you @WapPride

Meh... I don't understand this stuff at all. As in I'm not sure what the big deal is. I'm a firm believer that EVERYONE should be equal under the law and the rights of everyone should be protected. That makes me pro LGBT and BLM, so OK. I guess that makes me woke or whatever the current term of the month is.

But the truth of the matter is that I mostly go about my business and live my life and really don't pay much attention to groups of people that I'm not a part of. So honestly, I don't think about Trans people at all unless someone is standing in front of me. Then, more than likely, I just want them to move out of the way, so I can keep doing whatever it was I'm doing. You do you and as long as you aren't hurting others, I pretty much don't give a shit.

If someone askes me to call them he, she, they, it, whatever... That's fine. I'll do my best, but don't bust my chops if I forget from time to time. I do have a neighbor who is trans now. He used to be a girl and my son and her used to play together all the time. Now he's trans and we do take the dogs walking together a couple of times a week. When he told me he wanted to use "he" instead of "she" for a pronoun I just said "sure, no problem"... BUT when I mess up and use she, realize that it's not an insult, it's just me F'ing up... no disrespect, I'm just old. I liked him just fine when he was a girl and I like him fine now that he's a boy. I don't see the problem and he can use whatever bathroom he wants. I just don't really care.

I will say again, that I like JK Rowling just fine and her Harry Potter books are a master work of childhood literature. A damn fine story. But when it comes to social opinions, I put her in the same category I put any actor or sports figure. Namely, you want to talk about your area of expertise, I'm all ears. You start talking about stuff that you don't know anything about, well, have at it, but I'm not paying much attention. Kind of like when Aaron Rogers starts telling me about vaccines or Lebron James starts spouting off about social issues. You have an opinion... but it doesn't carry much weight, b/c you really don't know what you're talking about.

In Rowling's case, I'm not sure how she's being brave. She has her opinion. Great. That opinion isn't popular with society in general. Again, Ok. But you have to realize that she's a freaking Billionaire. She has security, she doesn't have to do or say anything that she doesn't want to do. She doesn't have to go anywhere she doesn't want to go, and she can live a lifestyle most of us can only dream without earning another dime. There's no real threat to her well being no matter what she says. She gives ZERO shits b/c she doesn't have to. In what way is having an (granted... unpopular) opinion and not backing down from that somehow brave? I don't get that at all.

I'm not sure what she's thinking personally, but she's welcome to that opinion. The way I understand it, she got interviewed by a biological man that identifies as a woman. She refused to use the she/her pronoun, and a huge pissing match started. I'm not sure why she didn't just do whatever. This dude is basically dirt on her shoes as far as relevance. It would have cost her nothing to just say sure... whatever and keep on keeping on. But she didn't and that's absolutely her choice. Again, in what way has she suffered? I bet she hasn't missed a meal, fail to pay a bill, or generally suffered any sort of bad thing, unless you think others calling her bad names somehow counts.

I don't want to tell anyone how to live. If you want to be a trans and mutilate your body, you do you. However, I don't think doctors should be allowed to practice pseudo science either. Doctors should have to live by the mantra "do no harm" and if there is harm in what they are doing they should be stopped. But if you are an adult man and want to pretend to be an adult woman go right ahead. I'll think you are a weirdo idiot, but go right ahead. And no, i wont go along with your fantasy and call you by the wrong pronouns. I live in reality.

That is not the point though. The point was that the trans ideology was attacking our kids. If your ideology can't stand alone to adults, then it needs to be kept away from our kids. My daughter is in an AP psych class, 10th grader, and yesterday she showed me this bullshit in her textbook. It needs to stop, it's fake science, it is a lie. No one can change their gender. Period.

And JK Rowling has risked everything. She flaunted the law the day it was passed and threatened the PM to arrest her. And they didn't. You can't say she doesn't have anything to lose, she has everything to lose. Much respect to her.

Isn’t a psychology class the exact place that you’d expect this to be studied?
