He could not get his TrumpCare Bill through a heavy republican majority congress, he is under active investigation by the FBI (something that even he said would prevent someone from being able to be president), and there seem to be more and more trump voters coming out every day and saying they don't support him anymore (diminishing the threat of his voting block).

Will be interesting to see how he reacts to being marginalized completely in Washington.

I would have been surprised if he did get it through. Obama needed super majorities in both houses to get the pile of dung ACA through. Anyone that seriously thought they could get something done hasn't followed history much. This is America...we won't fix anything until the ACA completely breaks which should be in the next three to four years.

I don't believe he is going to make it for 4 years.

It was a brilliant move.

Promise to repeal; come up with something that he knew wouldnt pass; let it fail; continue to blame Dems and keep heat off Republicans in the mid terms; once rates skyrocket and more companies pull out of the exchanges- come in and scrap the whole thing and start over

Ive predicted this for last 3 years - people who are actually buying insurance out of pocket, and not being helped by Govt, are going to experience sticker shock like nothing else.

Watch the howling then

He can still do a lot to marginalize it. He does not have to enforce it first. Second, he can change the law (as long as the budget is not affected) without a supermajority. That's one of the reasons the 2020 catilac tax won't be repealed and just will be postponed. It's just a fiction moneymaker. The obama administration recognized the huge cost of the ACA (even if it was successful, which it has not been), so in order to be able to tell the general public that it's cost neutral they needed more cash. The solution, create a fiction moneymaking legislation that is effective only after your term has expired, thus leaving the problem for someone else but being able to justify your program as cost neutral. We all know that if the tax becomes effective neither employers nor individuals wail pay it, they will simply conform their plans of coverage. More likely, they lobby against it and have it repealed. This tactic was coined by a Bill Clinton during his administration. I would not doubt seeing Trump now make his changes and potentially double the catilac tax and postpone it further. Needless to say, we have a big mess on our hands.
