It's good to see we have a POTUS who has his priorities in line(sports related)

ClintonNodding.gif

Is that Benghazi? Thought we would have a Yemen investigation by now...

Or at least a GAO request on these Margo-la-di-dah vacations like we did with Obama.

It takes 10 seconds to fire off a tweet...it takes 3+ hours to play a round of golf..

Trump and golf isn't a winning argument right now.

Here are just some of the facts that I dug up. There are different metrics for different days and costs of vacations (I went with the most conservative sources for all of these numbers) but the Blaze (Glen Beck, Tomi Lahren site) said that Obama spent 85 million over 8 years on vacations (could have gotten up to 90 million at the very end), a little over 10 million a year. Thanks to a Republican congressman request we know that an Obama trip cost 3 million and that is extremely similar to the trips Trump is taking to Mar-a-Lago in taxpayer dollars. So Trump is spending a lot very early. Obama waited 4 months to take a vacation, Trump waited 2-3 weeks to go golf.

The actual days of vacation differ depending on if you count a half day or full day as vacation. Obama by liberal sources had 127 days to conservative sources saying 228 days. Bush ranges from 533 days from conservatives to 879. Reagan took a year of vacation. Trump is on track to beat them all (we will see if this continues). Trump tweeted 11 times that I am aware of criticizing Obama for playing golf, also criticized Obama for cost, one tweet singled out the vacation of Michelle Obama.

I didn't vote for Trump in the primaries...and to be honest, this is the first election where I've even considered voting for the Democrat...however, the Dems somehow managed to nominate someone worse than fvcking Trump.

I am optimistic about the boost in the economy from a business minded POTUS (the DOW has been setting record highs nonstop lately), as well as looking forward to some tax cuts. I also hope he keeps his word about term limits, as "career politicians" are the absolute worst thing that can happen in politics.

All that said, I'm not a blind sheep either and not afraid to admit that he has a LOT of areas he needs to improve on (social media being near the top of the list).

I actually agree with you--Hillary was a terrible candidate. Trump is amateur hour and a disaster but Hillary was not a good candidate, DNC stacked the deck against Bernie.

I'm hopeful the POTUS can negotiate some good deals but in the first two weeks he had corporate welfare queens like Walmart cozying up one day and then Goldman Sachs the next with an Exxon guy to be sec of state and DeVos whose family is the biggest insider, special interest family there can be. (I was really hopeful he would follow through on his campaign promises on Wall Street and that he wouldn't be like 'crooked' Hillary with her speaking engagements with wall street buddies but he is exactly the same, if not much worse, rolling back any semblance of consumer protections)

Trump invited the swamp to dinner and then went golfing to Margo so he could snap some photos and make the family business some cash.

4 consecutive posts? Probably best to sit the next few plays out, sport.

I bolded the key word for you there.

Our previous president vacationed ALL the damned time.

Oh, and Trump spent Thanksgiving working as President Elect on the Carrier deal...prior to even taking office.
Guess you wouldnt want facts to get in the way of a good 'ol lib bashing, but next time, feel free to take your head out of your ass and look something up?

Are you guys really trying to call Trump's two golf trips on the weekend "vacations?" That's something Trump did on most weekends, even before he was POTUS........hell, it's something a lot of us do on the weekends when we are free.

Obama's golf trips weren't classified as "vacations" as he played golf 300+ times while in office, but as the above illustration shows, he was only accredited with 160 "vacations"...so I'd hesitate to call Trump's golf trips vacations either...but that's just me.

Now, as for the fiscal aspect of those trips, you won't hear any rebuttal out of me over the cost of these trips whatsoever. $3m of taxpayer money, is absolutely absurd to go play golf.

Who has time to fill out a bracket when they spend all day and night Tweeting like a drunken, moronic 14 year old?

I guess when you're a workaholic that works 18 hours a day you have time to do that stuff.

Big difference from our previous POTUS who was on the golf course every week.

Being awake 18 hours means you're old, not working.

The vacation argument needs to just die. Presidents don't have vacation time.

So let me clarify, just because Trump golfed on the weekend before he was president, we shouldn't count his games while he is president? You said Obama vacationed all the time… When were you referring to, the one trip a year he took to Hawaii? You most certainly were referring to his golfing, but for some reason, Trump's golf games shouldn't count.

And I wasn't saying anything about Trump in my post. I was refuting your "alternative fact" that Obama vacationed all the time.

First, I was combining my response to ClemBen's post along with yours...so everything wasn't directed at you, obviously.

Second, 160 vacations is ALOT...I never said he vacationed more than any other president...I said he vacationed "all the time." That's not an 'alternative fact'...160 vacations essentially means that he went on a vacation every 2 and a half weeks.

That's mind bottling to me...and what's even more mind bottling is that there are other presidents who took more 'vacations' according to the graphic you shared...which now has me questioning the legitimacy of said graphic. If that graphic is accurate, George Bush would have had to taken a vacation almost every single week he was in office...that can't be right.

It really makes me wonder which trips they actually classify as vacation and which they don't. Apparently, the media is calling Trump's two golf trips "vacations," but they never counted Obama's golf as vacations, as he golfed a staggering 306 times while in office...yet, according to your graphic, he 'only' vacationed a staggering 160 times.

So, if we're going to compare apples to apples, then we need to add Obama's golf to his vacation total which would mean that Obama vacationed 463 times.

Man...skewing facts to support an agenda is fun isn't it? I can see why the media does it so much......................

When your source of information is CBS news, you lost credibility. Who knows how they came up with those numbers. Secondly, with Bush, I think he worked from his ranch in TX quite a bit and this is often counted as "vacation" by his objectors. Mind you, I am not a fan of Bush's time in office, but working from his home is not exactly the same as being on a golf outing like Trump was.

how could anyone take you seriously when you type, not once but twice, "mind bottling".

Everytime the joy of controlling the House, Senate, White House, Supreme Court (soon) wears off, I am rewarded with threads like these.

And Im pretty sure very few, if any, of those 1000 lost State and Federal congressional seats are going back left in the mid-term

I wasn't trying to defend Obama or discredit any of the other presidents with my statement. All I'm trying to do is say I wish people would lay off Obama when he didn't do any differently than every other president does. I dislike Trump with the fire of 1000 burning suns, but the man is entitled to play golf once in a while.

Oh so you are one of the "fake media" types huh? Why does CBS not have credibility? Do you have a source that shows they aren't credible or are you just stating personal opinion as fact?

The source for the numbers is the White House correspondent who tracks the POTUS travel. It's been the same guy since the Ford administration. What it actually counts is days away from the White House so if you go play local golf and come back to sleep in your bed it does not add to the tally.

The skew you're seeing is that Reagan and Bush maintained personal residences that they would return to regularly and even continue to work from. The Bush Ranch was actually nicknamed the "Western White House" because of how much work he did there. The Obama's "only" lived at the white house so had no days at another home to be called "vacation" days.

I am impressed by this reply. I appreciate it and agree.

I want the President (no matter who it is) to do well. I also share the opinion that - to be blunt - 'what the fvck are you trying to prove by tweeting everybody that you're mad at, OMG'.

I think that's the biggest red flag - from the other side of the aisle though, @CMTiger15 . This guy doesn't know how to stop the social media stuff. This guy is super-sensitive...and petty. It doesn't play out well. I think everyone who leans left is just waiting for this guy to tweet out the smoking gun one night - when he can't sleep.
Most people don't mind the tweets. It's him talking directly to the people...no middle man (media) b/c let's face it, whether you wanna admit it or not, there is a major liberal bias in the national media these days. Everything Trump says seems to get twisted, even if just a little bit...but that's all it takes. Do some research on fake news stories regarding Trump just since he took office...their are a ton of them. Thing is, most are "corrected" a day or two later but by then, the damage is already done. I tend to think this is done by design b/c a story may be be shared via social media thousands of times but the "correction" is general only shared a handful of times...
You are right jimbob. Everything Trump says is twisted by none other than himself.

I'm sure it's fake news but it's being reported that trumps weekend getaways cost 3 million a pop. Seems like he could stay in D.C. and try to do better than the last guy.

He could take an 8 year nap and exceed that standard.
You are right. If Trump sleeps for the next 4 years and stays out of the way maybe this shitshow will end. Actually he isn't going to even make 4 years.

He will never reach the level (low level that is) of the previous administration. He is the WPE and that is quite the accomplishment considering he had to beat out Jimmy Carter.

Excuse me but isn't this the same guy who helped manufacture a story that President Obama was an illegitimate president because he wasn't born in the U.S.? That is FAKE.

Also, isn't this president who is complaining about leaks the same one who not only encouraged Russia to hack his opponent's emails but acknowledged his love for Wikileaks?

Meanwhile, a Russian airplane buzzes a U.S. jet and a Russian war ship sits 30 miles off of the Delaware coast. His National Security Advisor was discussing how Russia shouldn't worry about Obama-imposed sanctions because the U.S. would modify them when Trump became president. All caught on tape.

And the president blames LEAKS for Gen. Flynn's demise? So I guess he had no problem with what Flynn did, it was that America found out about it (because of REAL news!) because someone leaked the truth.

Can you believe it has been less than a month since he took office?

We have a VP who has purposely been kept out of the loop and made to look like either an idiot or a liar when he said Flynn had not discussed sanctions (when the president knew he had) ...

We have a top strategist named Kellyanne Conway who either lies or is out of the loop when she claims the president had full faith in Flynn the same night he was fired/resigned ...

Now we have a comrade of Trump who has no national intelligence experience who apparently will be asked to head up a review of our intelligence agencies - much to the disgust of our intelligence agencies who fear that there will be a wolf in sheep's clothing.

And we aren't a month into the 4-year term.

There is absolutely no way in hell that happens. I mean there are several Republicans that are against the man and that list continues to grow daily. He does however have the support of the Russians I'll give you that.
