Ivermectin

I have a good friend of 30 years who has suffered from MS for the past 20 years. She has a much lower immune system and so has been extremely careful during the pandemic. She has had all the shots, booster shot, wears mask and gloves, worked from home, etc. She still got a bad case of Covid in January and showed no improvement after two weeks, including a fever nonstop the whole. A Doctor friend of hers who lives across the country, prescribed Ivermectin and saw immediate results after one day. After 3 days all symptoms, fever, etc. were gone.
I’m not saying this would work for everyone, but it worked for her. They biggest thing is take charge with whatever medical problems you have. You alone knows how you feel.
I am just asking a question. I have family who have information about ivermectin and one of the main benefits of it supposedly working was administering it within 3 days of contracting it.
I dont know bur the article cited was given after 7 days.

It works if it is used as part of the proper regimen. I've seen it myself on multiple occasions. People like to put up stuff like this because they test the drugs at the wrong time in the wrong way so they can achieve their desired result. That's not how it works. That's like saying you test tamiflu after someone has had the flu for a week which is clearly not the intended purpose of the drug. But people can believe whatever they want. I know what I've seen with my own eyes.
How was this study done at the wrong time?

They have tested all these drugs independently and after Covid is full throttle in patients. There's a cocktail of meds that work and ivermectin is one of the drugs present. Doctors all over the world have used these drugs to treat Covid with great success. Here's a website that discusses the use of it and I can tell you based on direct observation this treatment works brilliantly.

Maybe some people improved taking Ivermectin because it cured and later prevented serious parasite infections?
Good point! Maybe! And the "vaccines" prevented people from being infected with the COVID...... 19....... never mind. Oh yeah...... the "vaccines" keep those who get COVID 19, even though they are "vaccinated", from infecting... other... peopl......... never mind.

You are playing language games. Existing vaccines are relatively effective at preventing people from getting COVID, and also effective at preventing you from spreading it. They're not perfectly effective, though, so of course there were always going to be breakthroughs when the virus was still circulating and not everybody was vaccinated. I think just about everybody can admit that the vaccines' performance at preventing spread of virus was disappointing, though, for various reasons.

OK, OK....... so MAYBE the "vaccines" work. The language games are being played by the manufacturers calling their product a vaccine. The general public perceives a vaccine as providing high probability of protection from being infected by the virus. Obviously none of the "vaccines" meet that expectation.

Just my opinion, these government funded studies are set up in a way to get the desired results. The government is in cahoots with big pharma and the number one goal is for their desired med to be the only alternative. They will actively attack and undermine alternative medicine that they cannot achieve huge profits from. It's that simple.
i agree, fvck big pharma.

tell me again how you're pro life but still against a cap for the price of insulin.

Ivermectin was shown to have 'worked' in a test tube bc it just killed all the cells, including the virus.

This research is pretty definitive. No benefit.

But there is also an entire giant literature on the placebo effect which is why people still claim that it works for them (or for their friend). But keep popping those hydroxy pills that dumb governors bought for millions of taxpayer dollars.

The ridiculous thing is that now there is a pill, an antiviral called Paxlovid, you can take soon after you get covid that does work--don't even need the expensive IVs with Remdesivir but nobody has any clue about it...sigh...

How much did Pfizer pay you for this post?

WTF! LOL!! I am pro life and highly support generic drugs at a low price. Would support shorter proprietary drug copyright protections for big pharma.

Heres a good pro tip for you. A minimum 10 minute walk after eating your meal is better than taking metformin. Now if you are sitting around slamming twinkies and little debbie cakes all day then all bets are off.

Note - I am not and have never been diabetic.

Just bought some ivermectin OTC in Costa Rica to have on hand.
Amazing how up in arms they get over an off-patent drug that’s basically never caused anyone any harm, has been available for decades and is dirt cheap, but refuse to entertain the thought of an experimental “vaccine” having serious potential side effects

It’s almost like they’re boot lickers for big pharma. But that wouldn’t be right, they’re dems, they hate big pharma. Right?

No one’s up in arms about it. Mocking y’all for taking animal medicine that no scientific studies show actually works is what’s actually happening

falling over themselves mocking your ilk for being stupid enough to take an antiparasitic to combat a virus
Oh, so drug repurposing just isn’t a thing now I guess. Damn. Maybe you should call and tell that to MD Anderson in Houston who is currently running studies on Fenbendazole as a cancer treatment

Maybe tell them how stupid they are for wasting their time studying stupid anti parasitic animal drugs. You could even get Dpic in on the call to crack some hilarious horse jokes

lol there had been no studies supporting the use of ivermectin as a covid treatment (and there still aren't peer reviewed studies showing its success) prior to a bunch of idiots barking about how it's a covid cure. and yes, fenbendazole has spent the last 5+years being studied on its viability as a cancer treatment, not just randomly selected and promoted as a cure before any studies could be done to test and prove its efficacy.

lol

You do realize they started studying it after a vet self-administered it after seeing its success rate in animals, right?

I’ve heard similar stories. Is there a big downside to trying Invermectin/Hydroxychloroquine?
HCQ has been prescribed for decades for Lupus so it’s not dangerous when the patient is screened properly according to doctors I’ve heard from/read.

BS!! We have the correct news from the PEOPLE all over the world that are taking ivermectin and it works!

I have not taken ivermectin for the record. I am 58 and very healthy with a strong natural immune system.

Saves hundreds of thousands of lives in foreign countries, but the big pharma backed studies say it doesn’t work so we need to just ignore those “anecdotal” accounts

lulz

Yes and it’s still being studied half a decade later on it’s efficacy for treating cancer in humans. Tell me again how long ivermectin has been studied as a treatment for viruses?

Anecdotal evidence is pointless compared to double blind peer reviewed studies. Ivermectin very well may work to treat COVID, but until there are peer reviewed studies showing the benefits of it then I’ll keep mocking all the necks who drive to their local feed store to pick up medicine

Lol so your entire argument is bunk

You do realize the vast majority of people were taking the human approved form of Ivermectin, right? And you are aware it’s a virtually harmless medication so there’s essentially no reason not to try it, right?

How many people have died from misusing it? Id wager a few if any. Which makes the hysteria over it so preposterous. The media is making the entire story into a bigger deal than it needs to be and people like you are just regurgitating the stupidity

The fact this is your argument is demonstrative of the profound ignorance we see these days. If you're trolling then it's still ignorant. It is not animal medicine. It is listed by the world health organization is one of the 10 essential drugs. Try educating yourself and understand that what you're getting from the media you consume is based on a political agenda and not reality.

There are a lot of legitimate arguments here that can be made on both sides. What is always very telling us when people resort to proven false statements. That's what we need to get past in this country. Stop being part of the problem.

I’m truly curious as to what legitimate argument is to be made against ivermectin, because I just can’t see one. Best case, it knocks Covid out almost immediately if administered in the appropriate time frame. Worst case... you get a stomach ache?

Obviously it’s not a good idea to self administer random veterinary drugs, but even then, how many people died from the “horse paste”? How many people suffered severe illness from it, and what were those side effects? At the end of the day, the veterinary version of Ivermectin is maybe slightly more unrefined/toxic, but it’s still ultimately 10000000x’s more proven than a brand new “vaccine” That’s been out for a year. We know the long-term effects of ivermectin, nobody has a clue about the vaccine.

The usual suspects here will hee and haw(harharhar I’m Dpic) about ivermectin With not much in the way of evidence against it, and simultaneously refuse to entertain any deaths or illness caused by the vax. It’s completely astonishing, though not in the least bit surprising

BUT NOT BECAUSE OF ITS EFFICACY IN TREATING COVID.

ALSO. THEY DONT COME UP WITH A ****ING TOP 10. IT'S ON A LIST WITH HUNDREDS OF OTHER DRUGS (479), BUT AGAIN, NOT FOR ITS USEFULNESS IN TREATING COVID.

so, either you are using a fact in an intentionally misleading way, or you are repeating a talking point you heard somewhere else without research. either way, its rich that you are saying someone else is "part of the problem".

here is the actual list from the WHO

here is the wikipedia page on the list

here is the language from the WHO directly about what its on the list for (newsflash, it doesnt mention covid, or respiratory infections at all)
"Ivermectin is a antiparasitic medicine with a broad spectrum of activity. It is used in the treatment of onchocerciasis (river blindness), strongyloidiasis and other diseases caused by soil transmitted helminthiasis. It is also used to treat scabies."

Your caps lock key is stuck. As for the rest of your post it proves exactly nothing. What exactly are you trying to say? The reason that I stated that about the WHO is that folks in the media and probably people like you have tried to indicate it's a horse medicine. But it isn't solely that. It has been medicine for people for a long time. It works with covid when used with the front line docs regimen. It's worked all over the world. That's an undeniable reality and something I have witnessed personally on multiple occasions. I hope you get your caps lock key fixed.

You witnessed it working all over the world? Personally? That’s a lot of travel during COVID. Most of that travel would have even required vaccinations. Dumb old me, I have to rely on the data that’s out from thousands of cases which says ivermectin isn’t helping.

you can take tons of things for COVID, but the studies say they don’t help. It’s troubling that people who are easily duped will believe that all they need is ivermectin to beat COVID when there’s a story or two out there that ‘it works’. That’s not how science works.
