Called out by ESPN for sending out a series of tweets essentially saying Trump is a white supremacist elected by white supremacists. Shocking I know

Snowflakes being triggered by a meaningless person's tweet. I didn't even know she tweeted any of that. Those statements are most likely for people that "follow" her and most likely already agree with her. Those that don't agree with her nor follow her, who therefore she wasn't talking to, are somehow triggered to the point where ESPN has to apologize. Snowflakes.

Hardly triggered. Just thought it was interesting that in todays climate where words apparently have more power than weapons, that she would say that. It's a free country and she certainly has the right to say what she feels.

Curt Schilling agrees with you.

Didn't say you were triggered. ESPN by apologizing is responding to the triggered. Thought I made that clear. Your response may be considered as telling tho. I took you as just reporting what happened. I didn't know because I don't follow her.

Triggered? Snowflakes? A "prominent" media personality simply cannot post stuff like that. It's unprofessional and will negatively impact their employer.

Has nothing to do with triggering snowflakes

Yeah that was my thought as well. Probably not a good idea to alienate half of your customers

Had EVERYTHING to do with triggering snowflakes. Same when the other side says something and liberals are triggered and complain. Everything is about the triggering of the other side and then comes the apology.

Slight difference is this was on Twitter. Not on TV. The only half she is speaking to on Twitter is the ones that "follow" her. I had no idea she said any of of this.

Not so if slander, that's criminal

@TigerLion06 is a Black Lives Matter fanatic, so keep that in mind. He only shows up to pump hate.

Hey dumbass I hate the BLM organization. That group hasn't helped at all. If you were smart enough my message is for both sides to stop being so triggered. You gotta be smart enough to get it tho. Not sure how you came to that conclusion. I'm usually the guy having to explain why I don't support that group. You failed miserably dumbass.

And I've watched her show a total of one time, don't follow her on Twitter and only showing up to pump hate, i post all the time on football stuff. Meanwhile you may legitimately be the worst poster on this board.

I saw the tweets, don't care about them but do find it funny that Schilling was fired for tweeting a statement not supporting shared bathrooms. However I don't follow Jemele Hill but I did see the tweet because some of the college football media members I follow re-tweeted them and they appeared in my timeline. You don't just see the tweets of the people you follow

@Chefkdh - agree. I find it odd that her Employer (ESPN) has to apologize for her actions. Why not the Broadcaster (who sucks btw at her job) have to do the same, if she hasn't?

I can assure you, if my Employer went on record "apologizing" for my actions, I would be unemployed the next day.

I get that. My point is saying it on Twitter is different from alienating half your fan base. Saying on TV can most certainly be viewed that way. Not saying you won't find out. I found pout on here. I thought Schilling triggered folks. People need to chill out. There is a line I agree but it's way too easy these days.

Calls people dumbasses and snowflakes then proceeds to tell everyone to chill?

Interesting strategy, well played!!

True enough. I'm using the language of the folks I'm talking about. Everyone calling each other snowflakes. What the hell is a snowflake and where did it come from? By their definition all the people on both sides calling each other something they both fit by their definition of. If they get that point then maybe they'll chill and all stop being so triggered. Triggered, another word used to insult each other that both side displays. Yes, let's all chill.

Yes. After he triggered a bunch of folks ESPN felt the need to respond with a hammer. Just stupid. The logic in my posts defend him as well.
Tweeting about bathrooms is a little different than suggesting the president and all the people that voted for him are white supremacists. It's just odd that the latter gets a slap on the wrist while the former gets someone fired. But tell us again how ESPN doesn't have an agenda.

I agree. Both should be able to say what they believe. People vote differently in this country. Hell we have a communist party, socialist party, etc that freely operate in this country. Many people would disagree with what they have to say on their personal facebook/Twitter accounts. Allow them to have different opinions. This country is all about that. People get offended a little too easily. There is a line I'm sure, but some of these examples go too far. I don't think Schilling should've been fired. Maybe ESPN feels like she took a shot at her employer. Maybe that was personal. Political rants that are general should be allowed. Not get fired. My opinion.

This was after her rant a month or so ago proclaiming that she doesn't decide to bring politics into sports, but her job is to cover athletes and that they're the ones that do. Right.

If ESPN had any spine, she'd be terminated. This is no different (and IMO worse) that what Schilling did and was terminated for. Instead they decide to defend her...no surprise.

Where are the ones always arguing that ESPN doesn't have a political agenda? As one political commentator said, ESPN stands for Endless Stupid Political Nagging.

So Linda Cohn was just suspended by ESPN for saying publicly that their poor ratings were due to being too political, and nothing happens to Jemele Hill other than a public reprimand that she shouldn't say those things.

Got it.

I didn't know that Linda Cohn got suspended. That's too bad. Back when I watched ESPN regularly, she was my favorite on there. Like her accent and delivery.

And they are all free to say whatever they want. And their employers are free to fire them. First amendment protects them from their government, not their employer. Shilling was stupid to say what he did when he works for a hard left leaning organization. Hill probably knows that while getting reprimanded in public, she's having many in her company agree with her.

The people at the top of the ESPN food chain are obviously not people of character. That's probably one of the reason's they're struggling.

I actually disagree. I'm not sure I've ever seen Jemele Hill on ESPN, other than a commercial advertising the 6:00 Sportscenter. I don't purposely avoid it but 6:00 just isn't good TV watching time with a young family. However between her followers and retweets I would think a lot more people have access to her on Twitter than ESPN. But, by no means, am I a media expert

100% correct. You're speaking to what is currently reality. Not arguing with that. I'm saying IMO it should be allowable socially and with your employer to have an alternate belief system. If we find out through a Herbstreit Facebook post that he doesn't believe in BLM movement he would be ostracized by much of his audience. Government or not we need to allow people the opportunity to think differently. The social reaction (triggered) makes the employer react or overreact. Just unfortunate. I know not reality but people are way too triggered these days.

There's a massive double standard. ESPN is quite pathetic. I desperately wish there were another alternative to watching their games. It'd be awesome if you could stream directly from the colleges and teams you like. Then you could forgo all this garbage and let the networks like this die.
