Does it ever make anyone wonder why Biden is the guy they keep putting out there? There's absolutely zero chance anyone believes he's the best representative of the democratic party.

1. Biden was seen as the best option to take the rust belt back from Trump in 2020. That's why he won the nomination then.
2. Biden is the incumbent President, and the incumbent has much higher odds of retaining the office than anyone else. If Trump wasn't running, I imagine Biden probably wouldn't seek reelection, but since he is we're stuck with Biden v Trump part 2.
I expect 2028 to have better candidates (Pritzker maybe, Gretchen, and Newsom are probably the top 3 favorites off the top of my head.)

I have no control over any of it, I am not even a registered democrat. Biden would not be my first choice, I voted for him in 2020 b/c he was the best hope of defeating trump (and I also don't agree with a lot of Bernie Sanders' positions).
I will absolutely vote for biden vs. trump. So will most of America.
Biden is going to be president for four more years (barring a really strong no labels candidate entering the race).
It is best that you and your ilk accept this, so we don't have to go through all of the stolen election nonsense again, even though I know we will.

I'm currently dealing firsthand with a grandparent who is full blown Dementia. I'm not joking when I say this but I don't think Joe is any better than him and my grandpa is not allowed to drive. We do our best to ensure his safety and others. He and Biden act exactly the same. No way in the world would I want him to make any sort of decisions. In fact, we're making them for him. That's hard to look past.
I can't vote for that, personally.
Maybe, they'd have a better shot if they announced who was actually making the decisions, because it's not him. Electing someone NOT in charge, is very scary and banana republic feeling.
An incumbent president always has the advantage over other candidates in the same party but If you watched the State of the Union you would know that the dementia Joe crap is bullshit. But how in the hell can you claim Trump is better when he says things like this? If anything, he appears to be markedly worse and is completely unable to articulate a cogent thought about any of the issues.

That's not how I roll, my friend. I question everything. Again, if you have never dealt with someone like this, then you have no experience with it. Im dealing with it firsthand. I can't blindly vote for my favorite team just because.

That has nothing to do with Trump.
I've also dealt with dementia firsthand and Biden's mental state is nothing like the experience I had with those older relatives, including my father. He wouldn't be my first choice but he's the only choice we have and unfortunately the alternative is much, mich worse.

Do I think he's the best possible Democrat to run for office? No, but I suspect he has the best chance of beating Trump since he's the incumbent, and no one else polled as well.
Do I think he's as sharp mentally as he was in 2020? No, probably not. Do I want him running? Yes, insofar as I think he, in 2024, offers this country the best chance at preventing another Trump election. I also don't think his mental faculties are as overblown as the media would have you believe. This was on display at the SOTU the other day where he came across fairly well.
I also think that a lot of the mischaracterization of his "dementia" is just him being an 80 year old who's been battling a stutter for his entire life.
Again, I'm not trying to trap you here, I'm simply asking a question.

Is it hard for you to believe that the Democratic Party thinks Joe Biden is the greatest possible candidate to represent them and possibly be the President of this country again?
It's extremely hard for me to believe that and you stated that he wouldn't be your first choice, so here's the second part to that question: why are they throwing him up there?
As for your question about voting: It's March. I'm going to continue to do my homework prior to November because things can change very quickly.

It's not really about "they" as he chose to run again and so as the incumbent, Democrats rallied around him. And though you may not agree, there are plenty of people who think he's done a great job. I do too but not in all areas.
Polling shows that 70% of Americans don't want either to run but we got who we got, so I'll support him since he's the best option by far in my opinion. He's just not as bad as you portray him to be, sorry.
Not particularly. I just don't think Biden is suffering dementia, nor has he done a terrible job as POTUS. I would never vote for Trump, but I would abstain from voting for whoever the D candidate was if it was proven he did something terrible/illegal.
When I said he would not be my first choice, that implied that I think there are better candidates. Buttegeig would be my #1. I would also put Newsom, Jared Polis or Gretchen Whitmer up there.
If the R's would put a non maga, reasonable candidate like John Kasich up there, I would strongly consider voting for them.
I also dealt with a family member who had dementia. She was way worse than Biden is now. Biden certainly gotten worse in the last few years, but he is not as bad as conservative media makes him out to be. Why do you think the 48 hours after the SOTU was all about Biden's drug use? They lost the narrative and were desperately trying to get it back.

Every time they try to make the point that he has dementia or has completely lost it, he presents a solid performce such as the SOTU or the debates.
He will never be an amazing public speaker, but he does come across fairly well when he speaks. By most accounts, where he tends to shine is one on one interactions with voters.
Whats funny to me is the more Biden speaks, generally the better he comes across, the more Trump speaks, the worse he comes across and the more he hurts himself with the non-MAGA fanboys.

I can’t tell you the last time I’ve watched “news” on my television.
This may seem hard to believe, but it’s 100% fact. I will never watch Fox nor anyone “pretending to pick a side”, instead I prefer to do my own homework.
The last thing I want is Fox telling me what Biden said just as I don’t want CNN telling me what Trump said. Boring as it may be, I watch every single second of each of them when they speak, unedited.
The Narrative in the country is that Ds and Rs are against each other and one is better suited to represent and lead this country. Neither of them want what’s best for America, they want what’s best for their team and their ideals.
I long for the days we just have news. Like it or not, just the truth with no bias. I’m the epitome of someone who does my best to see the other side and not just the one I want.
I enjoy discussion and am addicted to learning, so having conversations is my preference. I wish people talked more instead of planting their flags on a hill and not backing down.

I have been open here for years to the fact that climate change is one of my biggest concerns. We are headed to a very unpleasant situation. Since the official position of the GOP has been "it's a hoax" for years, that means I am always going to align more with dems, even though I certainly don't agree with every position.
I am of the opinion that there's too much money involved in the entire "Global Warming" issue. In general, in everyday life it's not wise to bite the hand that feeds you and typically speaking, there's too many hands in the cookie jar for me to have insightful opinion or even an accurate one for that matter.
Is global warming real? I believe the earth and nature are still not understood fully and is likely ever changing. How much do we control, I don't know.
Personally, I'm genuinely terrified of the fact that our country could be infiltrated from within. Illegal terrorist coming over or possibly worse, Government officials.
Since this website essentially brought us together through sports, let's use that analogy.
Let's say you and I were playing a game of football. I want to beat you and you want to beat me. We do our homework and we study each other. We do our best to ensure we give our team the best chance to win. Now, imagine for one second that I put a person on your team to completely sabotage it and throw it. Maybe he's a O-lineman, maybe the QB or maybe even worse, he's calling the plays. Maybe, I have more than 1.
That's unheard of in any "game" or competition. That's never ok nor should it be.
That's a legit fear of mine and this country is not immune to it. People hate America. That's a fact. It's not out of the question that someone would do whatever they could to tear it down.
I love this country and hope everyone would do anything to protect it and it's integrity. It blows my mind the people in this country clamoring for communism or anything of the likes. I will forever be against that thought or anyone trying to infiltrate this country and do harm.

I think we should do our best to ensure everyone who wants to come here and make this place better, should be able to legally. That said, we should do our best to ensure everyone who comes here, is here it make it better.
Better can be subjective, sure. What's not subjective is tearing it down via terroristic acts or treasonous acts or "working for the other team".
2 things I would like to see addressed:
Border Security- You cannot leave this country illegally; you should never be able to enter it illegally. Vet the people coming into this country to ensure the safety of US citizens to your best ability. Just like we lock our doors before going to bed, let's do the same at the borders.
Term Limits and/or Congressional Audits. - We should limit terms and we should audit every single dollar of taxpayer paid salaries. Any corruption with Taxpayer dollars should be the highest penalty in the land and public viewing to make an example and set the bar, that we will not tolerate people abusing taxpayer dollars.
Those two are high priorities for me.
I should add that just below those two but not far down is taking care of our vets and homelessness. Regardless if your opinion of Ukrain or Russia, we could have solved these two issues twice over with that money.
Let’s pretend we’re at war with homelessness and find a few hundred million to solve it.

This is pretty much true for me. I'd vote for a lot of Republicans over Biden. I'd vote for Trump before I voted for Ted Cruz or MTG... But that's about it.
I don't love Biden at all... He was a bumbling idiot 30 years ago and hasn't gotten any better.
