I know they all used to, but it’s been a few minutes. In the 70s it was certainly all with substitutions, none of this signaling stuff. At least not as elaborate. For a brief period of time in the 80s I think, they allowed you to send a play in and then the person that brought it in could just turn around and go out and never be in there for the play.
