Naked demagoguery. Right up there with canceling student loan debt and no tax on tips (yes, I know that's Trump's platform that Harris co-opted).

I mean, I'm all for decriminalization at the federal level. What the states do whatever the heck they want to do about it. But if she really cared about this issue and wanted to see it done, she would have advocating for it for the last 3 years.

I don’t disagree with this. I do think she is a very ambitious politician who will say whatever she has to to get elected. She knows that she is not polling well with Black men and the youth, so this is one low-risk area she can lob up to gather some interest.

But cannabis being illegal is one of the most puzzling things. I can buy a gun that will allow me to kill dozens of people but can’t smoke a joint? Weird.

Comparing it to a gun and murdering people is also weird. Perhaps more apt comparison is comparing it to alcohol. There's no reason alcohol is legal and marijuana is not.

Cannabis is not for everyone IMHO, but it does have health benefits.

I was just pointing out the potential harm to society of each, and that cannabis is far safer than many things that are legal.
