I really struggle to see how our country being a republic is in any way related to the electoral college. We're still electing someone to represent our interests which is, in fact, what a republic is.
You know what else the founders thought? That black people were worth 60% of a white person or 0%, depending on the circumstance. They thought that women shouldn't vote and that only property owners said. They were wrong about a lot and they were wrong about this too. That's why we should just go ahead and change it. I don't find your appeal to tradition in any way compelling.
Im being serious when i ask this. Why stay living in America?
No part of anything I’ve said on here implies I want the status quo or caught up in tradition. I respect and interested in history because it’s factual. I’m not going to hate my countries history because a bunch of white liberals have decided to classify our founding fathers as bad now.
When the left wants to reflect on the past they might want to find better excuses for the millions of deaths due to central planning. I’ll gladly take America’s history over and of the socialist dictators that butchered their populations.
