It should be considerably more difficult than it presently is to acquire means of killing people efficiently. If we had a bunch of John Wicks running around, I'd be concerned about pencils too.

The classic argument by semantics. I'll be very specific. Ban the sale and ownership of guns chambering 223 rem and up.
Question . I own one of these is it a weapon of war ?
I own a 44mag for deer hunting should it be ban ? I purchased it almost 50 years ago when I was 16.
Should single barrel, pump, or semi automatic shotguns be ban ? All can shoot slugs which is a lot bigger than .223 cal.

This is the part where they finally start to understand their own ignorance and realize they can’t deny that the end-goal is the ban of all guns… And it’s fun to watch them attempt to weasel their way out of it all. They’re so dishonest it’s amusing
I don’t have a reason to save face. But your point about it stopping there is valid and probably my biggest concern with applying new restrictions on guns. There’s a slippery slope concern for sure.
It’s why I think using existing structures in place (like the example I gave with silencers) and shifting guns that can rapidly inflict mass damage into that category makes the most sense.

I love it.... fun to shoot , bought it in 2019 no issues so for . Came with two 50 round magazines. I am sure you know 22LR ammo is cheap Vs large calibers. Mine is still as I purchased no add on accessories.
