I don’t think this is any big surprise.
The administrators wanted to maintain the bowl system, but now that we are going to a playoff structure they need to start moving more playoff games back to campus.
The university administrators and athletic department personnel get free trips to bowls so I know they appreciate these but the average fan can simply not take off, spend thousands of dollars and follow their team all over country on short notice.
