The process to convert to catholicism takes a long time. He's been at this more than a whim on a weekend. It's the culmination of a bunch of time, classes, etc.
And it only takes a split second to become a Biblical Christian. Jesus said, "ye must be born again."The process to convert to catholicism takes a long time. He's been at this more than a whim on a weekend. It's the culmination of a bunch of time, classes, etc.
I’m not sure what your confusion is. They’re just saying that he was a member of another Christian church before he joined the Roman Catholic Church. Christian is the broad category of which Catholic is a specific kind. Your analogy in makes sense if you think African American all Christians are Catholic in the same way that all “Black” people are African American.Catholics are by definition Christian. The founder of the Church was an apostle of Christ. Every Catholic is a Christian.
To say Freeman was a Christian before he became a Catholic is like saying he was Black before he became an African American.
I believe in God, the Father almighty,What do you think 'Christian orthodoxy' means?

Sure, but I think they were probably writing for a Catholic audience that wouldn't have read it that way.It get it but the missing word "already" or a similar qualifier makes it also read as though he WAS a Christian but now he's something different that is NOT a Christian. Like he entered the religious transfer portal and left Jesus U behind.
It's more my campaign about bad writing and bad editing in professional situations more than anything, and one would think that the diocese would be especially sensitive as some evangelicals suggest that Catholics are not true followers of Christ, as one poster here suggested re Pope, Mary etc.
haha love it!I mean, ya got Scott Frost and Urban Myuhhh out there soing anything and everything other than tryna win some ball games and then you got Freeman doing whatever it takes to bring the university and community together under his leadership and win some ball games
Already requested!Bout time to move this thread off on the football board and to the religion and politics forum

Understand all that completely.I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Catholics are not like MormonsUnderstand all that completely.
Believe me.
Catholics call themselves Christians.
Mormons call themselves Christians.
the holy catholic* church,
does not mean Roman Catholicism, I understand.
Catholic and Christian are terms often misunderstood.
That was my point.
And, you made the point, as well.
I didn't say they were.Catholics are not like Mormons
